I agree DJ on Barkley. But what pisses me off the most is the Rams had a chance to sign Barkley and they didn't even bother because McShitferBrains doesn't like big, powerful backs that are at MVP type level!!

If we could somehow pull a trade to get Penn State's TE Warren in the draft, he would be a huge blue chipper on Offense to select!!

Just how we lost our first Snooperbowl against Pissburgh, Smed. TWO BIG PLAYS. YOU CANNOT ALLOW BIG PLAYS EVER AND EXPECT TO WIN BIG GAMES. WE HAVE BEEN DOING IT ALL YEAR LONG ON DEFENSE!! We lost our Second Snooperbowl for the same reason and the HC in McVay got outcoached and didn't know the Jumbo Offense that would have destroyed Belicheat's variation of the 46 Defense!!

As for your criticism of my suggestion of asking for Garappolo to relieve Stafford. Stafford was struggling mightily in the Third Quarter and needed a breather. Ya put Garappolo in for a series, ya pull Stafford aside on the sideline, and you talk to him. As the HC, ya get him to re-focus and get him back on track which McVay could do because he has Stafford's ear. Then ya put him back in and let him work.

One of your problems Smed, is you have a tendency to be myopic in your analyses. The operative word here is TENDENCY. Sometimes you miss alot because of it.
And sometimes your fandom gets in the way? You dont pull a quality veteran like Stafford for a series to talk to him, thats crazy. pulling him for a series does nothing! Plenty of time to "talk" to him between change of possessions!! Sometimes you miss alot because of your frustration and love for your team and thats ok!

Fair point but Barkley is a beast indeed and he is having an MVP type season. No team has been able to slow him down, even some good defenses.....

I think they win the game if not for those 2 TO's.....despite Barkley going nuts.....
Those turnovers were huge, but you can also say we only give up 2 long TD runs instead of 3 we win despite those turnovers? We had our chances aside from the turnovers. As Ive said, 3 times in the second half we had a 3rd and 1, a 3rd and 2, and the last 3rd and 2 and didnt convert any of those? We could have won this game easily "if" not for a lot of things, but it happens to every team, its football, shit happens!!

Come on Smed. Who is the guy that comes on these Game pages after the game and consistently rags on we the fans that bitch about what the team is doing wrong that leads to another loss or barely a win when we are capable of a game like the one against Buffalo? That would be you.

Perhaps your fandom gets in the way. You admitted above the Rams Offense missed more than several opportunities to convert on Third Down. They have been failing all year to take it in for the TD instead settling for FGs. There was a stretch of games there, where the Rams wouldn't score a TD until the Second Half.

The reason we went to Snooperbowls dating back to the First one against Pissburgh was due largely in part to being consistently nearly flawless on all facets of the game, week in and week out. We didn't settle for playing stupid for whatever reason like this team often did this year.

Did you read the post thoroughly, Unreal? You pull Stafford a SERIES, ya get him the break he was demonstrating he needed, ya talk to him, ya re-foucs him, and then send back in energized. Vermeil did this a couple of times with Warner, especially during Vermeil's second year. It is just a strategy to help a QB and potentially save the game.

I did read, Retro.

I don't think you do that, not in today's NFL with the playoffs on the line. Jimmy G doesn't give us a better chance of winning over Stafford.

Despite those mistakes, that last drive still haunts me because it was 3rd and 2 with about a 1:20 left to play. I'm thinking calling a run play to get the 1st with a quick set and throw out the end zone to stop the clock. The play calling at that point was a bit suspect. That sack right up the middle was awful and then the 4th down was an imminent disaster.

For those who still can't see the forest for the trees, here is some help.

of course the Dud is going to be Rozebum, the season is over and he is absolutely the worst ILB in the league. This guy cannot cover, tackle, shed blocks, nor does he have the instincts needed to be the starting ILB. A complete liability who is utterly useless on the field, might as well field 10 players instead of 11 because he does nothing besides take up a roster spot. This position needs to be fixed in the off season and permanently.

Come on Retro, Im not ragging on anyone, I just think its funny how some of you bitch and moan the while game and question everything? McVey is one of the better coaches in the league and any team or fan would want him! Like any coach or team sometimes plays dont work whether because of good defense or lack of execution?

You bring up the Buff game, I'm sure Buff fans bitched and moaned about that game, you said we are capable of a game like that? well sorry but the defense gave up 42 points and the Rams were fortunate to win that game.

Yes we have great players at the skill positions, yes we need a upgrade in the oline, but the oline did a pretty good job this year. Did Limmer have a bad game, yes overall he did a good job this year!

As far as us getting Barkley or Henry, that was a pipe dream! Williams is one of the best backs in the league, is he Barkley or Henry, No! Why would either of them want to come to LA to be part of a running back by committee with Williams, they wouldnt!! They went where they had the best chance to go to a SB and be THE GUY!

You can have your opinion and Im fine with that, but this is a very young team and they are going to make mistakes and they did! Throw in the fact that the weather did affect the game and if the weather wasnt a factor, I think Rams win, but it did and they didnt, shit happens!!

But when you say "Mcshitforbrains" needs to go, Stafford needs to sit, Karty needs to be gone, etc, I just have to disagree with you and thats OK, people see things differently especially die hard fans like us!! I know we both go back to the 60's, we've seen some great teams some real shitty teams, but I think this team will be pretty good the next few years, but yes need to be grooming a QB now!

still wondering what the deal was with Jones, he would have really helped this year, especially the last game??

Yep, that’s a much different game if they had kept Jones instead of having to start Rozebum

This article explains, for all you knuckleheads, what I have been screaming about for YEARS!! WE have whiffed on so many big players where big players should be. Both of the beasts on the Iggles D-line killed us. The Iggles O-line is the Number 1 O-line in the league except for maybe the Bills and the Chiefs. They are huge and athletic. Watch the tape. The reason Barkley had over 200 yards rushing and the Iggles nearly 300 yards is because our tiny players couldn't handle the big, athletic players of the Iggles espically Rozebum, Lake and others. It is that simple. This is going to have to change.

Yeah, finding the future will be a priority in the coming years but I don't think its urgent as in this offseason or next. This upcoming draft class is considered not stellar by analysts. Stafford still has two years on his contract, through the 2026 season... But not much $$$$ is guaranteed because it was reworked for 2024. so I assume they will begin contract talks within the next few weeks. If nothing happens, Stafford could request a trade ( Jets and Raiders need a QB ) or they could release him and then yes, then finding the future QB is now urgent suddenly. But given the current QB market, draft & FA, signing Stafford to a more guaranteed contract is in the Rams best interest and his.

2025 age 37 season
2026 age 38 season
2027 age 39 season
2028 age 40 season

It's a tough one. My gut feeling is to stick with Stafford for two more years, through the 2026 season and go from there. We'll see if a more guaranteed contract can be worked out. Not saying a Kirk Cousins Falcons contract tho.

Here is the list of FAs for the coming year. There are many that should walk because they are useless.

I honestly don't think any of this squabbling is happening if Limmer didn't have a brain fart on 3rd down and killed what could've been a solid comeback. Because that drive was going well until that happened. We'd likely be talking about the upcoming game against Washington instead. The defense I thought played solid (with the help of the weather and a banged up Hurts not at 100%) but just gave up too many big plays which was the ultimate downfall.
In the draft, I think we absolutely have to look to upgrade the offensive line. The Eagles have had some really good ones over the years, which I feel has helped them become as successful as they have been. So I think it starts there. Also, absolutely have to upgrade the linebacker and corners. And if we do happen to trade Kupp, we'll need to probably look at least at one receiver. I'd say it's also time to start looking at a Stafford replacement but I just don't see one coming in this draft.

Here are my choices for players who should not be re-signed in bold.

Over The Cap has a full list of the Rams’ pending free agents, which features at least five players who were significant contributors at one point or another this season. The list is headlined by left tackle Alaric Jackson, with Demarcus Robinson, Christian Rozeboom and Ahkello Witherspoon all set to become free agents, too.

  • LT Joe Noteboom
  • LT Alaric Jackson
  • WR Demarcus Robinson
  • QB Jimmy Garoppolo
  • OLB Michael Hoecht
  • WR Tutu Atwell
  • LB Christian Rozeboom
  • S John Johnson III
  • TE Hunter Long
  • CB Ahkello Witherspoon
  • OG Conor McDermott
  • DL Larrell Murchison
  • WR Tyler Johnson
  • LB Troy Reeder
  • DT Neville Gallimore
  • NT Bobby Brown III
  • RB Ronnie Rivers (RFA)
  • LB Jake Hummel (RFA)
  • C Dylan McMahon (ERFA)
On both Lines we need bigger, athletic players as well as in the ILB position.
