I think both defense's played pretty well....

I think the D played ok, not great for us. No pass rush and too many crucial mistakes late in the game.

Sometimes there can be reassurance in the way of stats .. Sean Payton teams - some really good Sean Payton teams - have opened the season with a loss ....

In 2011, the Saints went 13-3, but they opened with a loss .. In 2017, the team went 11-5 and opened the season with two losses in a row .. In 2018 they went 13-3 but opened with a loss to the eventual 5-11 Bucs ... and in 2019, the Saints finished with another 13-3 record but began season 1- 1 ...

This, to me, is an indication of a good coach ... You go 13-3 after a disappointing opener - and even a loss or two early does not deflate the team - good stuff .... and like great in-game coaching, a great HC will make adjustments as the season progresses ..

Josh McDaniel started 6-0 with the Broncos .. it meant nothing

Sean Payton will win games because of the coach he is .. and that shouldn't sound like the obvious .. Truth be told, I can't name more than 2 or 3 HCs in the league now, or rising in the ranks, who I'd rather have for the next decade ....

From here on out, there will be zero games in which he gets out-coached, and we have not been able to say that about a HC since Mike Shanahan was here

Washington was down by 6 going into the 4th quarter to a potential 0-17 team, and while it was week one and everything is finding themselves, the chances Sam Howell and Wash come into Denver and win are slimmer than me winning the lottery ..

I think someone else said tissue paper athlete, which is a little harsh but possibly true. Some bodies are not built to withstand the NFL.
