jesus just be happy if we make the playoffs but we have to beat the giants first and if we make the playoffs 2 years in row scott is doing good gruden is doing good but we can always upgrade the dc
Agree. Amazes me that most are dismissing their chances against GB. Any given Sunday. It's not like GB D is looking like world beaters at the moment.the lions can win at ford field

seatle and wilson are a tough match up for us
wait , we beat GB and we cant hang in a shoot out vs atlanta but RW has owned us and we can beat them ?
I was present and accounted for when we beat Seattle at the Link with Grossman. Granted that wasn't a Wilson led team but heck, Wilson has thrown a ton of picks the past 3 weeks. I am with most and believing Wilson is a tough match up for us no matter what. Our OLB's get sucked in way too many times with his style of play that his threat to run after getting outside the pocket will doom us however Rawls and the run game don't scare me. I would have more confidence in beating Seattle if only a fair game was called (defensive side) for both teams. For whatever reason, Seattle at home tends to get a lot of "no calls" for all the physical play, grabbing and mugging their secondary style plays. That does and will make quite a difference if we have to travel to the Link this year.we havent beaten the seahawks this milenium
OK what am I missing? I thought Detroit losing meant we were in with a win. But both GB and Detroit have 9 wins, the winner this week has 10 while we can only get to 9. So how do we win the 2nd wild card even with a win?
We win, Detroit/Green Bay tie
We all finish with 9-6-1 records.
We would beat out Green Bay due to the H2H victory
Detroit would beat out us due to the H2H victory.
Green bay would get the #4 seed and Detroit the #6 seed
So we need to win and NOT have the Packers/Lions game end in a tie.
Yes but it appears to be me that if either Green Bay or Detroit win and don't tie that winner would have 10 wins to our 9 and head to head won't matter.
Correct. Winner of that game ends up 10-6
Loser ends up 9-7
If we beat the Giants, we end out 9-6-1
But there is a 36-1 chance we could beat the Giants and still miss the playoffs.
Again how does our 9-6-1 with a win beat out the 10 win team that wins between GB and Detroit?
It doesnt. Best we can get is 9-6-1
Best either of them can get is 10-6 but it means loser of the Packers game finishes 9-7 which is worse than 9-6-1. UNless they tie, in which case Green Bay wins the division based on head to head, and Detroit gets the 6th seed based on us losing to them head to head.
