100% perfect way to end it. The Defense today saved what little hope there is for the playoffs.

I feel like Woolen going for the INT there fits him to a T. Glad it didn't backfire.

Honestly, we've seen enough DBs try to bat it down and it doesn't end well. Just glad he made the play and didn't do anything stupid with it.

Now at least the Zona/Rams game will mean something this weekend...

Well to be fair he has a 42 inch vert and he is 6 foot 3 with very long arms. Not many would be able to out jump him.

Pretty pathetic performance by the Seahawks offense last night. One of Geno's worst performances. The OL was terrible. And what was absolutely the worst was our short yardage running attack. This team is simply incapable of getting 3 yards when it needs to.

Ugh. Like many of our games (even the wins) this year, that was just so tough to watch. The morning after, here's what's sticking with me:
  • Our offense is completely inept. Can't pick up a 3rd & short on the ground with any kind of consistency. Can't really pick up 3rd downs in general. I heard the booth guys say last night that we've run the fewest number of plays in the league, and it was no surprise at all to hear that.
  • The opponent must be considered, but good on the defense. They were not perfect, but they played well most of the game. Chicago's offense might be worse than ours.
  • Hard to understand why we threw multiple WR screens to the WR on our team who works the hardest to avoid any kind of contact after he catches it. Tyler Lockett is a treasure, but he's the absolute last guy to run those plays.
  • DK... yikes man. I like what he brings physically, but he just has too much difficulty holding it together on the field emotionally. I am hoping week 18 is his last regular season game as a Seahawk.
  • Has Noah Fant just been nursing injuries the first 15 games or something? He looked good again last night. Speedy. If he's been healthy, he's been way underused this year.
  • I'll be nonplussed if we go into 2025 with Grubb as the OC. I don't wanna get in the habit of firing coordinators after a single down season, but something is really off here when you have this much talent that is producing very little week after week. We can't run the ball, can't protect the passer, can't pick up 3rd downs, commit way too many pre-snap penalties, etc. Grubb just might not be ready for the NFL. Here we are in week 17 and we really have not improved in any phase of the offense.
  • Anyone else getting sick of all the illegal formation penalties? It's not just the Hawks games, either. I see it in pretty much every game I watch. You're telling me NFL players can't figure out how to line up correctly 2 or 3 times a game? Come on man.
The "strength of victory" tie-breaker was mentioned multiple times during last night's broadcast in the context of our pathway to win the division even if Arizona does not beat the Rams this week. I don't know what all the details are in terms of which teams need to win/lose, but there still is a way to get the division crown by beating the Rams and finishing with the same W/L record. However, I'm just not sure I want it to happen. I always root for my team to win, but I'm looking forward to this season being over and getting a break from watching this every week.

The one thing I would say is that the offense is more or less the same as it was last year. If we score 19 points on Sunday we will have scored the same number of points this year as last year.

According this...

we are 22nd in plays per game this year. Last year we were dead last in plays per game.

So I would prefer that we don't get rid of Grubb given it was his 1st year on the job and he was still mostly working with someone else's toys.

The short yardage stuff is super frustrating but, IMO, that is mostly a player execution problem rather than a play calling problem. We don't have the personnel that can push the point of attack in a scrum. IMO, that has been our BIGGEST problem all year.

I think Grubb has to go... I know it's knee jerk to get rid of an OC after one season, but his philosophy doesn't seem aligned with what Mike wants to do... he finally ran the ball this game, but the pass calls were baffling (screens to Lockett?), non-stop penalties and mistakes (this is just a killer... seems we get a drive going, then sack on a long developing pass/illegal form/false start/holding/DK exploding...., and we can never seem to pick up 3rd and short... same thing every time... the stupid 'jumbo' formation and we run it right up the middle every time. Seems like every team in the league knows what we'll do.

I just don't see Grubb back on this team. And he'll have a job waiting for him in Bama where he'll get paid the same if not more.

Ah good ol' Charlie Whitehurst. Least pretty sure that was when he played.

I was at the game against the Giants where Charlie played his best football. We won the game comfortably and my buddy who is a Giants fan and has season tickets was baffled as to how they lost to Clipboard Jesus.

Yah I guess he got his revenge because he played horrible against the Giants in 2010. That 2011 game where he won he only played part of it (Jackson got hurt) and Eli was turning the ball over like mad including a Browner pick 6 going almost the entire length of the field to cap it off.
