There are a myriad of reasons. But at the end of the day, its leadership. Both in the coaching and on the field.

My take, team is reacting in part towards that reported shaming that JG gave them in the locker room. Hey they still may shake it off and show some grit!

You establish the run so that the LBs can't rush amok and the make the play action work, which is essential in our passing game.

They cant run to ight at all, so Gruden calls a running play on third and two. Meanwhile the panthers have an awful pass defense that requires patience, and the redskins cant be patient.
