I am just thinking if we don't with his extension the salary relief goes away. And then you have traded Bradford for a second round pick. Come to think of it it looks like we did trade Bradford for a second round pick.

thats exactly what we did. Yet most people on here think having a second round pick somehow is better than having a quarterback. :nono:

Pretty sure the Browns were offering more than that.

The problem is we have so many free agents that haven't been re-signed on our own team especially on the defense.Jenkins, Johnson, McLeod Barron etc We are going to have to Spend money to resign these guys. We won't have money for a quality quarterback if we are going to keep our D intact. We are going to be drafting around 12th to far back to get a top quarterback. And it's a weak draft for QB's.

I don't think it's that, it's more of who the QB is. Bradford wasn't going anywhere in this offense, essentially trading QBs neither team wanted with Philly along with a 2nd round pick to us. We all know by now that Foles isn't the answer, just about everyone on here knows that Bradford wasn't the answer either. Neither is Keenum, Clemens, Hill or Davis. Haven't seen enough of Mannion to judge but I have a feeling he wouldn't fair any better than the others.

As for a solution, I think it all depends on whether or not Fisher stays on another year or not. If he does stay, I don't think it matters who the QB will be. If he's canned, I'd maybe try to trade a pick or two for Brees perhaps since it sounds like Sean Payton might be leaving New Orleans one way or the other. If there's nobody good on the trade market or free agency, hope you can get and develop a decent one in the draft.

Well of course he did! And I'm sure Coug will be letting everyone know that he did! I'm sure he will fail to mention his boneheaded play that could have cost them the game, but his defense bailed him out yet again!

Yeah Philly gave up 412yds on D but they won the game :L

I don't think it's fair to say Bradford wasn't the answer. If you remember he was on a career high performance before he blew out his knee. So how can we say he wouldn't do just fine on this BETTER team with Gurley and Donald? My point is he's exactly what we need right now. A better then ave QB that is smart with the ball.

I agree with a lot of this, but no way would I put a 37 year old pocket QB behind this oline!

Do I sense some sarcasm? I actually believe the oline will be better next year, would I put an old QB that can't scramble behind them, no!

Like I said, I don't think there is a good answer to being our QB with Fisher as the HC. We'll need a new HC with a completely different philosophy to possibly get that answer. He wouldn't do better because of the awful playcalling this team has had on the offensive side of the ball. But in St. Louis, I think he had worn out his welcome with the back to back season ending injuries and wasn't worth the risk of bringing him back with how high his contract is.

I can certainly understand that concern. But if anything, even if he's just here for a year or two, we can draft a QB early and Brees could mentor him. I think that'd do whomever would succeed him a lot of good.

The first thing that they need to do is move Robinson inside to his natural position of guard. I think that'd help him and the line out quite a bit.

Yeah but is he making LT money?

That I don't know off hand but I'd rather have him at a position where he helps the team out most instead of at a position that he's still having a lot of trouble with and committing what seems like numerous holding and false start penalties that kill drives.

Doesn't matter at this point, we are paying him either way, and he might as well be playing where he will help us the most!

I'm sure Brees makes a lot of money, plus I see no way he would want to end his career with a team that isn't very good, let alone end his career with a bad injury playing behind a inexperienced oline like ours?
I just see Brees as being a very unrealistic option!
