Game over. We are 8-4 and we head to Phoenix for the Cardinals who won today and are 10-2. I hope this game is a tune-up, confidence builder because Murray is back at QB. WE are going to have to play a mistake-free game and if OSFB reverts back to panic-mode passing, we will lose that game for sure.
I really am hoping OSFB keeps his version of the Jumbo with Noteboom checking in as eligible. That is a def new wrinkle that kept the Jags on their heels. It also sends a message to the other 31 teams that the Rams O is not one-dimensional. But I fear that history tells us that OSFB will panic at some point in the game and it will be pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass all over again and that will be a death nail. If we can play next week's game similar to what we did today we can give the Cardinals another loss and we can then hope they will lose again before the season is over.
Easy game, Retro finally got to see his jumbo packages. Effective running, Sony is priving to be the better back. He had some hard nose running out there, today
I'm glad the Rams won.... But it was against the Jags. The real test is coming up.... Cardinals, Vikings & Ravens. Let's see what this team can or can't do.
I just got done watching some tape of the Rams new-look Jumbo and it is spot on!! They were bringing in Noteboom as an extra O-Lineman/TE eligible and running that with both Higbee and Blanton (two TEs). How sweet it is to watch Michel lining-up in the backfield as the sole RB. And man did that set produce some serious results.
NOW I HOPE OSFB RUNS THAT OFFENSIVE SET THE SAME WAY THIS WEEK AGAINST the Cardinals. It simply overloads the defense and you can throw from it which we did. Now we have another weapon for any surprise variation of the 46 Defense similar to what the Cardinals employ and we will prevail.
If OSFB reverts back to panic-mode passing, WE WILL LOSE GUARANTEED!!
BTW, Shelton stepped-in for Allen at Center and did a great job as did Evans for Edwards later in the game. Shelton looked ready to go and I hope they stay with Shelton at Center because the holes they were opening-up as they went along with the run game were monstrosities.
That Offensive series where we started on the 1-yard line was a thing of beauty when we started with the Jumbo and immediately, Michel ran through a hole on the right side that you could have literally driven a truck through and he took the ball to the 11 for a first down!
Two other players of note who had a really good game quietly: Greg Gaines and Odell Beckham Jr. Jr had two TDs and he is becoming more accustomed to Stafford and this offense. Gaines was beating the crap out of people all day and he really shut-down the middle when he was in there.
This game was about getting our swagger back a bit. I hope OSFB stays on this line of activity because the Rams are more physical to the place where they need to be and they may be developing a touch, just a touch of the killer instinct, MAYBE!
