Just so everyone is clear. Maybe talent really IS the issue around here. Anyone ever think of that??

I think we're short on talent mainly at QB and at running back.

Rex is a very good back, but he's far from being great. The same thing goes for Helu, but of course our offensive line hasn't blocked very good for most of the year. Is that because of talent too? Partly so, but ole Barn and Watson seem to be bringing down the level of the offensive unit also.

Defensively we have a good enough unit to have beaten almost anyone with just average play on offense. Four games this year we saw below average to atrocious play on offense.

Part of the problem was hardly any chemistry or cohesiveness on our team also.

We scored 45 or more in 4 of our games against decent opponents and 31 against Missouri in a cross state rivalry. We could score points so I don't think talent was the issue. In most games our offense was undisciplined and unmotivated. They just did not show up. To me it seems to be more of a motivational problem then a talent problem.

I wasn't overly impressed with Oregon's offense last night. 19 pts of which there were two 2pt conversions, one of which was a fake extra pt. (a normal game of 17 pts)
Auburns defense wasn't considered stellar.

That being said, good coaching can turn 3 stars into 5 stars as well as bad coaching turning 5 stars into 3 stars.

Nebraska's offense needs to learn and play with basic fundamentals and discipline. Hold onto the ball, catch the ball, know your blocking assignments, know the snap count, know the play called.
Do these things and they should be able to put 17 points on the board.
