It's not that the deal's bad (seems fair both ways) but I don't see how Vegas adds it and somehow gets better. Seems like they're relying entirely on the current roster playing better (and staying healthier) under a new coach. That basically uses all their Weber LTIR $.

Agreed on terms & thought of risking no injuries. Barring any moves, I think the salary cap will once again bite them in the ass.

“When I first got to Vegas, it was weird that there was, like, no accountability,” said Pacioretty. “And I’m not talking about in the team; I’m talking about like ever. You couldn’t feel pressure coming off anyone else, from the coach to the management.”

I dunno, maybe the GM & above feel comfortable there but the coaching position's been pretty cutthroat there considering they fired the guy who got an expansion team into the Cup final a year and a half later.

It's doubly confusing considering he was traded there by a GM who managed his team for 6 years and had one playoff run to show for it
