Have to see it, it is well known that Sherman does not switch sides of the D. Gruden also brought it up during the game. :noidea:

Seahawks were brought up, it was pointed out they also have 2 amazing safeties so it's not the same situation.

If the proposal was Norman should follow one receiver than it is exactly the same thing DGF. Saying anything else is ludicrous. To follow or not follow ... that was the question.

There are a lot of levels here that have been ignored by many, many in the media as well. First I didn't say that Barry is right or wrong or am I lending support to his theory. I am explaining what he does.

When Norman was signed many said "you're going to pay a zone corner $18 million???" He played ONE side in Carolina also. But because Breeland had a bad game and because Brown is a top flight wide receiver people over react.

Barry is a big believer in zone defense. I said during the game that it "seemed" (I can't see the entire field) that the Steelers were looking for 1 on 1 matchups they wanted .... like 4th and 1. It could be that in some or many cases the Skins were in Cover 3 their primary coverage in zone. In that case Breeland gets a third, Hall gets a third and Norman gets a third. It could look like man if the receiver is in your zone. I cannot say for sure.

Instead most just want to take the easy way because they new Deion or Revis follow a particular receiver and say Everyone should do that and Everyone should coach that way.

Does anyone else expect Breeland to have that bad of a game again? I don't. The guy is a good corner.

Gotta admire the literal reference....To follow or not follow ... that was the question. ["To be or not to be, that is the question." from Shakespeare's play Hamlet.] Nice!!

Hey I'm just repeating what I head. But it does have value even though I agree with you that we should have had our best corner on the best receiver in the game. Seattle's secondary situation is different than ours, that's the only point they were making.

The article was referencing how Cromartie said Sherman was not as good as Revis because he only played one side of the field. (he did not follow the other teams top receiver) It did also note he had better safeties to help him. Noted.

Again I am not taking a side just making an observation based on what the Redskins and Joe Barry do. I like Breeland a lot. I expect he will bounce back just fine. We have more worries on D than the corners.

Also remember that in most of these cases Breeland was in the vicinity and could have made a play. It was not like he was torched the whole time. Big Ben and Brown are just so good that they can thread the needle & beat just about anyone. I think that they are by far the best QB-WR duo in the NFL.

Doesn't necessarily excuse what happened on Mon & I am sure that the Redskins will make adjustments. However - this should not be viewed as the blueprint for other teams to beat the Redskins since other teams don't have this type of talent (e.g. sure Dallas has Bryant but Prescott is nowhere near Big Ben's level at this stage).

I looked into it a bit. Seems what doesn't get mentioned is that the Steelers' Wheaton and Martavis had banner days and Big Ben racked up stellar yards regardless. Hawks D as a whole didn't have a good day even tho they ultimately won the game.

Richard Sherman shut Antonio Brown down

I agree with your take on Breeland however, where the fuk was Hall? He sucks at safety, draws late penalty's and usually trails each TD play. Bruton wasn't any better. We have huge problems because our d-line and ILB also belong on ST or the bench...

They were perfect throws but I will never understand why Breeland slowed down on the 4th and 1 play. He was there, just didn't make the play.

If the center dribbles the ball back to the QB how many times do you think he will throw a perfect pass, even if he is a future HoFer. Not letting the Skins D off the hook but everything that could have gone right for the Steelers did.
