I don't see any reason for us to do that.

Sign Bruce Irvin to a reasonable deal? I think that would be something I'd seriously look at. He still wants to stay in Seattle, but Seattle has some looming cap issues which include but are certainly not limited to some unbelievable greed-bags like Michael Bennett and Kam Chancellor who apparently don't understand what a contract is. McCloughan was also part of the team that drafted him in Seattle, so he'd have some insight to whether he'd be a fit here. To be sure, that insight might disqualify Irvin from coming here. But it could also work the opposite way.

This is just me putting out a hypothetical, so take it for what it is.

He still stays. He is cheap, reliable depth and in all likelihood we need to carry 5 OLBs on roster in a 3-4 defense in any case

Fair enough. I don't think Murphy has lived up to his second round pick or the pass rusher some expected him to be, but he's not a bad player either.

No SS or abused puppies for me. I'm just in love with a bitch I can't stand.

While I do like him. I think I'll be OK if PG should walk or get cut loose. I'd also be cool if he sticks and stays as well. I may be wrong, but I don't see 70 catches, 765 yards, 10.9 ypc, 4.5 TDs, which is what Garcon has averaged over the last couple years. As something that would be impossible to replace.

Dude, listen to different media peeps. Or send em a PM, email, telling them to stop acting like triflin ass poopbutts and to fuck Griffin in his neck.

Things I don't want to see between today and the start of the 2016 NFL season.

Completely overhauling the offense and bringing another chief into the tribe. Circa 2005/2006 Al Saunders offense/Al Saunders

A major player in the front office/brain trust up and quitting unexpectedly. Circa 2007/2008 Joe Gibbs 2nd retirement.

A hard-headed, arrogant ass QB who no one can tell shit to. Circa 2012/2013 Robert Griffin III

To borrow a line from Brokeback Mountain: "I wish I knew how to quit you." :)

IM fine with having a guy who is more a run stopper/coverage type. I know pass rush is all the rage. But I am hoping we can get BALANCED on the defense and actually have a couple of run thumpers out there going forward.

Let's say we re-sign Galette and then ink someone like a Bruce Irvin to a reasonable deal. What happens to Murphy then?

If we sign not of those, why not get rid of RK? I am kidding but only to a point.

Why would Galette or Irvin sign with us if they didn't expect to start?

Bruce Irvin has done what exactly? Has his production been any better than Murphy's and doesn't Seattle run a 4-3?

gk, rk always improved from his rookie season. Plus when Rak went down with injuries rk didn't miss a beat. That is why he got the big time deal. He had a good year this year but everyone did expect better. I think he was still injured if you ask me. rk ceiling was always higher in his career b/c his numbers got better as the year went on. Murphy has a lower ceiling b/c he is not a pass rushing specialist. If he is a great run defender which is debatable that is fine but those guys are easier to find in the later rounds in the draft or FA's. Most 3-4 teams want 2 stud OLB pass rushers and the 3-4 De's to be run stoppers. Preston Smith has a higher ceiling b/c he can pass rush and can be a good run stopper. He has tremendous size.

Some good centers came from rounds 3 and 4. Of course nothing is definite but you never know. I don't have unreal expectations. I was the one who didn't like the Murphy pick b/c even though he led the nation in sacks he wasn't a pure pass rusher. It just didn't warrant the 2nd round pick to me. Especially in a 3-4 system. Of course there is huge risk in the draft. Im not denying that.

So you think we will see a better RK than ever before? RK is not a pass rushing specialist either. He is a very good all around football player. I do believe Murphy has a lower ceiling than RK but it isn't proven yet. The point is Murphy is still young. Let him develop on his rookie contract because he has proven better than a third rounder you want to trade him for. As for Preston Smith, stopping the run isn't all a bout size. It is about desire and assignment. PS is obviously better at rushing the passer than Murphy...so why didn't he get more playing time...he can't stop the run.

3-4 teams want the best football players. Typically, the OLBs are better pass rushers but that is because they are more abundant...same thing with a 4-3...DEs are usually the better pass rushers.

As usual, your opinion is blinded by bias. I have never seen anybody more prideful than you when it comes to opinion. You want to be right so badly, you hope for failure.

PS didn't get more playing time b/c he had to be developed into a 3-4 OLb. In college he was a 4-3DE so it took time for him to make the switch which is understandable. With the Smith and Galettee RK has a chance to really be special for us. How is my opinion bias? This is what is happening on our team. There is no right or wrong. This is what you don't understand. Any fan can come to this board and voice their opinion. When a fan voices their opinion and predicts something that happens in the regular season, we should congratulate them.

Your opinion is biased because you hated the Trent Murphy pick and want to be proven correct. Guess who else didn't like the Murphy pick...me...but it is turning out to not be a bad pick. He has started 22 games for us in his first two seasons. He will likely be backing up RK next season. Shark has been trying to tell you we need depth. I asked the question, what if RK gets hurt next season and nobody has responded holding your position.

What don't I understand exactly? I agree that a good player across from RK will make RK better. You don't seem to understand trading away your depth for a player that is more than 50% likely to fail is stupid...especially when that player is on their rookie contract. If somebody came offering a first or maybe a second for Murphy, where there is a better chance of a successful pick, then you would consider it.

And what exactly did you predict?

Seriously... is this shit ONCE AGAIN all about Morgan Moses?? Because thats what it seems like to a degree. I forgot we took Murphy in the 2nd and passed on Moses until he free fell into the third round.

If Rk goes down Galette or Smith fills in. Of course Murphy was going to play last season we had no one else. My predictions this year was that we will go 9-7 when alot people had us at a losing record. Second, KC was the right QB to run Grudens system, Third, Preston Smith was the best pick of the draft. Fourth, Moses is a quality RT and we shouldn't give up on him.

Cmon boys a little pat on the back for deanpet21. lol

If you think Galette or Smith can play RK's side, I will disagree greatly. I didn't give a prediction on the season because there are far too many variables. Would you be as gracious if we went 2-14? I never had a problem with KC and defended the, pick from the beginning. I also defended the interceptions because many come when we are in comeback mode and I would much rather a QB that goes for it than a QB that accepts it. Preston Smith was a good pick but I doubt it was the pick of the draft.

Why are you so quick to give up on Murphy when you didn't give up on Moses? That is the best question. I would say it is your pride about wanting to be right.

b/c I thought Moses played at a high level this year considering what he came back from. Murphy just doesn't impress me, he is just another player. For Murphy to make an impact this year a major injury is going to have to occur.

You'd have RK and Galette starting and rotating Irvin in first, then Murphy. On passing downs, RK is often used as a five-technique, which means you could have Galette and Irvin on the field all at the same time. We actually do this quite frequently when flexing out of out base Okie defense into a 4-3 look.

Time to 'fess up, Shark. Did you watch the movie too?

Been married for 25 years, in that time frame, you are guaranteed to have to sit through a couple of movies you would NOT watch in a normal situation. At least she didnt try and drag me to the theater to see it and waited for it to come on cable.
