I just realized, I have a fucking charity golf tourney that day. :(
Supposed to stay for dinner and an auction, but I (and half the field) may leave after about 14 or 15 holes.

Don't worry Toronto and Calgary supporters, as long as no one was dumb enough to paint "Hockeytown" at center ice in your barn, ratings don't matter and you can't be criticized for them.

not criticizing those in other cdn cities with nhl teams for not watching the canucks game ... canucks arent their team ... dont expect any support from them

but I am criticizing them (anyone for that matter, even Vancouverites) for watching Glee/Dancing with the stars

on this note ... very surprised by the strong show of canucks support coming from just south of us in Seattle and Portland areas

anecdotal and a small sample but nice to read:

And Tabatha Cobbs, a hostess at Fox sports bar and grill in Seattle said all but a handful of the bar’s 50 TV screens are tuned to the Canucks on game nights for the capacity crowd of mostly ex-pat Canadian fans.

She said locals are coming around to the game.

“We kind of adopted it. The staff, we didn’t at first understand the game but now I understand it and we definitely are gettting into it,” she said. “There’s a huge amount of energy during the games. There was more energy during the last game than there was for the Superbowl.”

And the fans definitely lean toward the Canucks, as opposed to U.S. hockey teams.

“We actually haven’t had many Lightening or Bruins fans in here,” she said.

My wife and two daughters are cheering for the Canucks, but they never miss Glee or Dancing with the Stars. My mocking of them has had no impact on changing their viewing habits.

thankfully my wife would choose canucks playoff hockey over that stuff ... but if it was 2 other teams ... its a questionable proposition (ie Im gonna have to watch Boston/TBay in the man cave tonight)

my wife really likes it when i sit with her to watch these types of shows "to keep her company" ... what I usually end up doing is start making crude and vulgar comments about the people involved (ie "wow she looks like a town bike", "whats the deal with that whore" .... and she tells me to go away ... works every time :)

meh. I have now paid over $6000 for my playoff tickets.

question for you mattola

(I have a feeling the answer will be "FRACK NO!" but I'll ask anyways)

puckdaddy tweet: Just spoke to Stub Hub. Avg. ticket price for a Game 7 in VAN for Cup: $1,240 ... five days before Game 1!

you selling?

our company tickets are lower bowl corners ... a "gentlemanly dispute" has arisen here over who gets to go to the games ... one resolution thats been suggested is we sell the entire series tickets so we can upgrade to centre ice lower bowls season tickets for next year ,,, I think its our only solution or else someone is getting punched in the face

yeah I dont think Ill sell. I saw the gold medal winning game live and if I get lucky enough to see this live I dont think that could ever be topped in Hockey Lore. No way. they could lose and I still wouldnt regret it. Id be sick for 6 months but no regrets.

fuck what Charity Ill give it a donation lol

lol... fundraiser for my kid's school.
they are building a new something-or-other.

considering how many Canucks tickets are in the silent auction catalog for the evening,
turnout would have been severely limited. either that, or the dads would send the nannies to golf in their place
