Oh, sorry, that should be Wayne Simmonds. At any rate, C. Montgomery Burns thought it was excellent.

Classy move by Simmonds to remove the lid while Perry was swinging his purse.

How long before they allow submission moves in fights?

Sometimes it's boring to be a Wings fan. I want to see guys throwing bombs at a high rate of speed. I guess when we are pissed enough to fight, they are usually worth the price of admission.

seems to me that was because he couldn't see very well.
edit.. nope, on second look you are right. lid was on tight, he just took it off.

based on the headline, I was expecting a much better beat-down

Wayne always removes his hat (he wears a visor) when he fights. If he can he puts it down gently. He is not a big guy but has been willing to drop the gloves and helmet several times a year. The fact that punches were thrown before the helmet came off, makes me think that Wayne was not aware the fight was going to happen. Since we don't see how it started I would have to ask someone at the game.
Love the bobble head connection.

Per Wayne it seems like Perry wanted to go and Wayne said ok
"Simmonds had skated between teammate Michal Handzus and the Ducks' Matt Beleskey.

Perry came by and slashed me and asked me to go," he said. "That was it. I was happy to oblige. He's one of their better players. Any time you can get him off the ice for five minutes, it's good."

It was one of many lessons the Kings imparted in their 4-1 win over the Ducks in front of an announced sellout crowd of 18,313 at Staples Center.

That looked more like the Waylon Smithers from the early, forgettable seasons of the Simpsons.
