I understand the rivalry with UDub. Still kind of a shame that you hate fellow West coast teams though. My feelings toward Washington and Oregon are all positive and I wish both teams well this season.

The hatred makes sense. Why pull for your for life opponent/rival? More wins means better recruiting. The in-general Mid Major cheering for fellow Mids makes no sense. IMO its fueled by low self-esteem of school and conference.

As for me, my wish is for the other WAC teams to lose often and badly.

He crashed his car while drunk and refused to cooperate with authorities, forced them to take his blood to measure how hammered he was and was still way over the limit. That can't be acceptable behavior. I sense you wouldn't be as upset if Idaho State was the first game and he was still out. I'm totally fine with him sitting out. It's the right thing to do for the program. You can't just look at the game, look at the long term message here.

I don't really have a problem with sitting him for a game. His DUI and behavior that followed is definitely unacceptable. But it seems that he's done everything right since. Reading through the comments here posters would bitch no matter what the Sark and program decided.

Again, I'm not against sitting him for a game, but the reality (as I see it anyway) is he broke the law and has been punished, he's taken his punishment and done everything (and apparently more) that has been asked of him. I think it could have been justified to carry out further punishments in another way than a game suspension.

I would have been fine with the decision either way. If ASJ played tomorrow I'd just assume he paid whatever price the team put on him over the many many months since it happened and would have been ok with it. You are right about the haters though. That's kind of the whole deal with being a hater isn't it? You can't do anything right in their eyes no matter what do you so just do what's right and let them bitch.

I'll be heading out to the tailgate shortly myself. The weather is perfect for it. No one knows what will happen given it's the first game for both teams, but let's hope no matter what the final score is that neither team ends up with any significant injuries. Both teams can start off the season right if they can prevent those killer injuries.
