I don't hate cutler because he's a bear. I just don't think he's all that good. I have always had a lot of respect for Chicago. Marshall,Jeffrey, Bennet, all three I'd take. I think forte is one of the most underrated backs ever. Briggs, Tillman, Hester, One of the best kickers in the elements in Robbie Gold. All players I'd gladly welcome on my team today. Cutler??? Not even when Rodgers was injured.

6-2 start and then a 2-6 finish? I think you are thinking about the Lions.

Nah, I'm posting about the Bears. If you look at the Cutler years and split them in half, it's kind of a trend to start fast and fade late.

2009 - 4-4 thru first 8, and 4-4 for final 8
2010 - 5-3 and 6-2 (I recall a loss in playoffs at home, for some reason)
2011 - 5-3 and 3-5
2012 - 7-1 and 3-5
2013 - 5-3 and 3-5

So 6-2 wasn't the exact number, but you get the point, I hope...

BTW, I hope the Pack do well Sunday. Should be a good game.

now can you at least be accurate when you do this because this is not even close to accurate
2012: cutler starts 7-1 but is hurt in 3 of their 5 losses to end the season
2011 cutler starts 7-3 but the bears go 1-5 without him to end the season
so please lets not get all dramatic and TRY to put all of that on cutler

How did GB do it?

They re signed guys to good contracts before they had breakout seasons (Jordy, Jones) and brought in good replacements (Cobb, Boykin) for guys that left (Jennings, Driver)

Cutler had very little to work with (on offense) his first few years in Chicago. The worst OL in the league and bad receivers. Despite that, he put up decent stats and a decent won-loss record.

This season was the first time in Chicago he had a good offensive coach, good OL and good receivers. How did he respond? He had clearly the best season of his career. He finished 8th in the NFL in Total QBR, ESPN's system to rate QBs. He missed 5 starts, and most of the Washington game. So he pretty much missed 6 games, but had 19 TD passes. So if he had played the entire season, he probably would have had around 30 TD passes which is a pro bowl caliber number. He definitely was on pace to make the pro bowl before he got injured. Too bad he got hurt, but there's no question he played the best football of his career. Best of all, he had a great game against the Packers with the season on the line. In previous years he played his worst against the Packers.

Everyone saw Cutler blossom in his first year under Trestman, so why let him walk? He should be even better in his second season in Trestman's offense. It took the Bears decades to finally get a good QB. Would be INSANE to let him walk and start all over again.

so he misses a lot of games? gotcha

so the offensive line couldn't block for his first couple of years. gotcha
so he didnt have any weapons his first couple of years gotcha
so the o-coordinator's he had were both weak and hancuffed by lovie his first few years gotcha
Now i am sure you can run out and find caleb hanie somewhere or jason campbell or maybe go back and get good rex bad rex. But as has been said several times this team from top to bottom wants cutler back. So if you dont mind i would rather pay cutler "julius peppers" money and get some proven production for it and go younger and cheaper on D and maybe get some kids who can actually make some plays. The only vet i would keep from the older days is peanut

Is it ALL someone else's fault? I understand that everything hasn't been perfect around Cutler, but when you watch him play it's obvious that plenty of his issues are self-inflicted.

naw man when the games he has lost were his fault im the first one to say it. But clearly he is far better then a couple are making it their full-time job to prove otherwise. Not with facts mind you but they are trying with a good series of B.S.

i mean really tell me one thing that is said there that is wrong and we will have a discussion. but jdwhatever and girlyboy clearly have no knowledge of the game of football. so discussing is futile. but the bonus with both of them is everyting they say is 99% false so the arguments are short lol
