Was Superbowl the worst payoff ever of an NFL season for people who aren't either Eagles or Chiefs fans?

The Superbowl this year had...

-Two teams that have been in the SB discussion for the past 5+ years

- Boring game itself with a blowout Eagles win where the Chiefs were never competitive

- Another year of focusing on Taylor Swift/Mr. Phizer gossip and her chums like Ice Spice down at the game

- Halftime show where a rapper made it about his overdramatic "rap beef" with another grown man when rap beefs have been stupid since the 1990's

Football and the NFL in particular have legitimately sucked in the 2020's thus far. Also, are people done listening to the NFL claim they are a league of parity yet? Just lol

For those of us who were neutral on both teams, it would've been nice to watch a much tighter contest, one of those classic down-to-the-wire finishes. But that aside I have to say the game was pretty eventful. The Eagles impressed immensely on both sides of the ball.

It was fine - while I prefer a close game/exciting finish, we were due for a blowout Super Bowl, and it was entertaining to watch the Eagles dominate. I didn’t find the game boring. I don’t care about the halftime show or about the off the field stuff such as Taylor Swift, I watch for the game action, not the media spectacle.

I really don't care for either team, and wasn't planning to watch. But the GF made really good ribs on her Big Green Egg so we watched the game. I was actually happy to see KC get stomped.

I also think the NFL has been moving more towards suckitude than parity. There are 32 NFL teams but there aren't 32 NFL-level quarterbacks out there. But yeah, I would rather see a few more teams in the hunt than these two rolling towards the Superbowl.

I saw a post that said, "Thank the NFL for the halftime show. I am confined to a wheelchair but thiis performance gave me the strength to get out of my chair, walk over to the TV and shut it the fuck off." Really, go back to marching bands and cheerleaders and if they can find any intelligent play-by-play guys let them give us an intelligent wrap up of the first half. If anyone can still do that in today's corporatized league.

It could have been worse. The game wasn't competitive...but at least I did not have to witness the Chiefs win ANOTHER Super Bowl.

Fall Out Boy... lmao. Had you asked me 15 - 20 years agoo when they were at the height of their fame, if they'd ever perform in a Superbowl halftime show, I'd have chucked hard. Never thought I'd see people clamoring for one of those emo pseudo punk rock soyboy bands of the 2000's to perform at a Superbowl.

I'm not insulting you when I say any of that, either. Because now that you mention it, what I just described about them could actually make for a pretty appealing halftime show for a decent segment of the population - they are and oldheads band now that were famous when people who are middle aged today were kids, so they'd have some nostalgia appeal for millennials/gen-x'ers. And as annoying as I consider them compared to my music of choice, any artists I legitimately enjoy have been too old to do Superbowls or they'd never have been picked anyway, including well-known acts like Iron Maiden. So in that sense, it'd actually be somewhat watchable to me compared to this rap garbage they've been doing the past few years.

I hate the Chiefs and not really an Eagles fan....

But I enjoyed the hell out of this Super Bowl! Yes, I get it, people wanted it to be wire to wire and come down to the last minute but I am one for one glad it was a blowout!

Sure, its the one thing the Super Bowl did was give the Chiefs haters a 4 hour event to masturbate to

That was the worst Super Bowl we have seen in a long time. The game is not just for us hardcores, it's for everyone and our party sucked.

I remember when it was the Pats time here at the hoop. There were so many more hot sports opinions from the New England sports fans back then. Now...not so much.

glass house kinda thing I suppose.
