Was Eli Manning really the problem?

Because Eli would not be playing like this against GB. Giants fans have even said the o-line was a problem. Most Giants fans did not want Eli benched. Eli could just as easily shredded TB and Washington like Jones did. In fact, maybe even better. One thing also, Jones is not a better game manager. He's not handing it off as much as Eli would. It is clear Eli was a scapegoat.

I haven't seen Jones do anything better than Eli in the games the Giants were prone to lose. Eli was shredding TB and Washington last season. It just seems he was being blamed when the Giants clearly have problems on the offensive line.

The Giants have a lot of problems. QB’s can only control the offense but get blamed for the team’s problems. I haven’t checked QBR in a couple weeks but Daniel Jones at the mid way point of the season was rated number 17 out of 32 starting QBs. Two behind Brady and three behind Rodgers.

Where are those two QBs in other years?

Jones was pressed into service as a rookie and Rodgers got to sit behind Favre until he was ready. Did Brady start after two games into his rookie season? Again, Jones is learning on the job and is going to get better for his playing time now.

I must have dyslexia because when I first saw the thread title, I thought it asked whether Eli Manning has a reading problem.

Yes, Eli forgot how to read a defense the past several years.

Well Eli certainly wasn't part of the solution.

*Hoop reminder it's illegal to use Eli and shredding in the same post.

What problem? They had good players and coaching. Eli arguably led them on two solid PO runs and rings.

Can't blame Jones. He learned from Eli. He had no chance.

First you say this

While I think the Packers will win this game, Giants have been known to give GB some problems. Even though the Giants are terrible, GB is not necessarily the team that destroys bad teams. It's also the first road game against a terrible team like this. I have a feeling Daniel Jones is going to get up for this game and it will end up being a game GB will fight like hell to win. This will be a shootout or a possible late rally and comeback by the Packers.

To me, this just seems like one of those games where the optimistic play of Daniel Jones comes into effect like against TB, Washington, Detroit, and New York (Jets).

Then you say this

Because Eli would not be playing like this against GB. Giants fans have even said the o-line was a problem. Most Giants fans did not want Eli benched. Eli could just as easily shredded TB and Washington like Jones did. In fact, maybe even better. One thing also, Jones is not a better game manager. He's not handing it off as much as Eli would. It's as if the Giants were barely a tier above the Dolphins going into the year, and have been exactly just that.
