Ware open to pay cut

DeMarcus Ware said he's open to taking a pay cut.

Crippled by elbow, quad and back issues, Ware posted a career-low six sacks and missed the first three games of his career. The 32-year-old (in July) knows the cap-strapped Cowboys can't afford to pay him $12.2 million in 2014. Expect a restructured agreement before March.

I heard the same thing. I'm fine with adding him to the Adios list, along with Spencer, Hatcher and Austin. All four guys would start next year, but at some point, you have to fix the damn cap. Better now under JG than next year under the new coach. Better to lose them than a TSmith or Dez

Smith is younger than a lot of the OT's coming out in this years draft. He is going to be an all time Cowboys great

Yeah I heard this today, and this is probably going to happen for the rest of his career. It may be time to say goodbye as sad as that sounds. Ware has been a great player, but his time is up as an every down player.

Exactly, but he said he would be willing to restructure but not take a pay cut. If we restructure, the problem will only be worse the next year, and the cap hit would be worse to cut him.

Stop catering to the over-rated, burned out and washed up piece of crap. Get rid of the bum. Ware IMO is one of the most over rated players we have ever had. Actually, if I owned this team I would get rid of everyone except for 4 or 5 players.

With the exception of a handful of guys (maybe not even that many), I'm willing to part with just about anybody. I'm no cap expert so I can't say for sure who we can and should get rid of, but I think the window to win closed this year. I'm willing to bite the bullet, let just about everybody walk or trade them and gear up for 2 years down the road when hopefully our cap is in better shape.

I'm ok with missing the playoffs if it means sustained success down the road. Going 8-8 every year and hanging on to aging overpaid players is just maddening.
