You totally missed my Austin Powers reference. It was on cable the other night.

Fuck. You're right. It was just out of context and I'm almost three sheets to the wind.

But it's inexcusable to miss an Austin Powers reference. Well-played.

I've never thought his problems were physical. I think his arm is plenty strong enough to be successful. His main problem to me is he lacks confidence to throw it downfield accurately. He finally showed himself today that he can. Hopefully he will remember today, and keep it up.

Dalton is not good at judging the speed of the WR, and how the closing gap will be once he releases the ball. I am sure he is throwing exactly where he wants deep, but misjudging the actual closing speed of the WR and DB.

Plus, he does lack arm strength deep. But he can make smart decisions, he is a capable QB inside 30 yards, and he is a good leader. He is going to have crap games just like any other QB in this league, and he will have his good games. Plus, it depends on many other factors as well, the defense he is playing, the scheme, who they are taking away, Dalton's mental state and ability to rise to the game.

He is a league average QB for the most part, but I think good enough to win for us, including the playoffs, but not capable of carrying a team all on his own like a few QB's are capable of doing.

I think Dalton actually does better when they let him drop deeper in the pocket, 5 to 7 yard drop instead 3 yard drops and get rid of it. If Dalton has more time to look through his progressions, I think he is a better QB. Soem of that hurry is on Dalton, some of it is on Gruden's game plan. Our offensive line has been playing much better and very impressed with them this year for the most part. As long as they keep doing this, I would let Dalton drop deeper into the pocket and give him a chance to see how the routes unfold.

I thought Dalton put together two very good weeks in a row. He struggles with some passes - There is not getting around it. But, the last two weeks the game plan worked for him and he really executed it. Can't argue with the results. Give a lot of credit to his line too.

Now lets see if he can keep it up.

I am very concerned about Hall getting injured. I think Newman as the #2 and Jones as the slot or #3 worked very well with this team when Hall was out there regulating his side of the field, but having to promote Newman and Jones to their new expanded roles, well that scares me, especially after seeing the past couple times when Hall was not able to play (Cleveland, NE, Detroit).

New England was a good day for the secondary, but they have absolutely no one on offense to worry about when Gronk was down. So even with no Hall, that was a manageable game, but out DL helped us more than anything in that game.

Cleveland, they had a journeyman QB pass all over us and covert tons of 3rd downs, because once they are forced to play nickle and dime on 3rd and long, we are exposed terribly.

Once Hall got hurt, same thing was true in Detroit, where they have lots of offensive weapons. We go against good offenses without Hall, we are screwed, we are going to have to win shootouts.

Our offense is great some days, not so good others, they are not very consistant, so from game to game, we could be elated, or extremely pissed. I just see the rest of this season being a bunch of highs, and a bunch of lows with little to no consistancy, especially in our defensive backfield.

I wasn't as impressed as most with his game v. the Bills. I thought he played well and made a couple really good throws but it seemed more like a paper tiger performance...and really that's not Dalton's fault. He took what the D gave him it just happened that passes that took very little skill to complete went for a ton of yards. yesterday he was great, though. Threw the ball exceptionally well.

I'd also give credit to the plan -- But Dalton should get some credit for executing it well and also he did his job in overtime.
