For those of you like me that have been coming here for the VT Baseball update and, unlike me, haven't been just going to Hokiesports.com...

Since winning the series against UVa, the Hokies took two out of three from BC, improving to 30-19 overall, 13-14 in ACC play, holding the seventh spot overall, fourth in the Coastal. Three OOC games and then the season ends at English Field with a three game series against "meh" Wake Forest (26-23, 7-17, 10th in ACC, 5th in Atlantic).

There's your update ya lazy fucks.

I'm surmising from the discussion above that we're probably going to the NCAA tourney if we close out with a series win over Wake Forest?

VT has a very high RPI, so I'd think we are lock. Some site I saw the other day had tournament projections....with VT as a 2 seed in the Louisville region with Michigan State and some no name school.

The Hokies didn't dominate BC like they should have, in fact they had no business dropping a game in that series.

BC is bad. Go have a look at their individual game results....they got blown out most games.....especially against projected tournament teams.

Yep. As long as you win the series, the one loss is usually overlooked.

Game 1 of the Wake 3-game series goes to the good guys. 13-2 Hokies with LF Tyler Horan and Chad Morgan hitting bombs, knocking in 3 and 4 RBIs respectively. SP Joe Mantiply went 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and a walk. Clean game, no errors for either side.

Game 2 today at English Field at 5:30pm and Game 3, regular season finale, on Saturday.

ACC baseball tournament is stacked this year from top to bottom....with 4 teams in contention for national seeds in the CWS.

I only went to one VT baseball game. Sadly, the memory I had was two outfields destroying eachother by not calling the ball vs. NC State last year. Still a good memory since I got to spend some time with my parents in Blacksburg.

So our regular season record is 35-19 (15-14 ACC) and we're the 6th seed in the ACC tourny. We play FSU, GT and UVA in a round robin.

Just looking at the ACC championship website, I'm reminded of just how stacked this league is. It's going to be interesting. Apparently Louisville and Pitt coming in soon are pretty decent too.
