They might be able to use an emergency callup under that provision. Don't know the cap ramifications of that. Does it have to be someone who fits under whatever the Kings have left or can it be Schultz? Just have to wait and see what happens next I guess.

And at the end of this, assuming V V is cleared to play, does the call up have to clear waivers again?
I know you can't stretch the cap until after 10 games, so the Kings can't call anyone up because the league minimum is greater than the cap space they have.

They can send Andreoff down and call up Schultz :noidea:

But they risk losing both to waivers on their way down. AA right away and Shultz when VV is cleared to play.
Lewis may need to go on LTIR until they can figure something out.

He is signed on a two-way contract, and his AHL is under the $105,000 limit

Under the 2013 CBA, re-entry waivers have been eliminated.

But that doesn't make him waiver exempt. The only guys that are clear from waivers are TT and TP. Everyone else can be claimed if sent down. It is a risk the Kings may be willing to take. I don't think there are many GMs that would be big enough dicks to claim AA if the Kings send him down, but it only takes one.
And if the Kings recall Shultz, he can come up no problem, but there is a risk sending him down.

It is things like this that concern me about the Kings cap/contract situation. It can get difficult to patch your roster in a hurry.

Pretty hard to take everything that can affect a team's roster in consideration. Especially instances like this. We all love having a contending team every year but unless you spend you can't maintain that.

I disagree, I think you can be assured that something is going to happen to your team/players during the season and you better be prepared for it. You cant keep everybody and you have to be careful on who you spend the cap space on. This is exactly why I have problems with some contracts and I would disagree that you need to spend to stay a contender and counter that if you spend a bit smarter you can stay a contender longer while trading away some of those cap heavy guys for more picks or let them walk.

Seems like this is tough situation for the Kings, Slava (funny in Russian his name means blessed be) and his gf.
His reputation is hosed.
What happens if he is found guilty, can the Kings cut him without it counting towards the cap?

Relax people. There's a lot of assumptions being made here. Lets see how it all plays out before we cancel the season and look ahead. There are people a lot more knowledgeable about the respective matters than us working things out. Let the process take it course before we let the panic set it.

The sky is still blue and the sun is schedule to rise tomorrow. Sabers are in town Thursday. We can put a team together from this board to beat them.

I don't see anyone panicked about anything Xis, its differing opinions and posting them on a message board that is here for discussion on the LA Kings in this case. Voynov happens to be on the Kings roster and thus we are discussing what might effect the team because some days its fun.

Agree no one is waving the white flag on the season, we are all just curious what might happen to the roster in the interim while this gets figured out.

What I mean is that by next week we'll learn that nothing is happening and Voynov is back with the team. Probably not likely but my point is that I'm not all that concerned. My comment is more to the that if the team didn't spend the money and win the cups in the last 3 years we would have a lot more to complain about than what the team is going to do to work around this issue.

Lets also not forget that in the bigger (real world) scheme of things that a person was hurt in this. Not fun for anyone involved and more importantly than hockey lets all everyone walks away from this relatively fine.

Lastly I'm not at all against the conversation but I haven't seen this much "concern" from Kings fans since Dedmarsh got knee dropped in the head by good o'l hands of stone.

Not a lot to be concerned about for the last 3 years. Two Cups and a trip to the Conference Finals will do that for most fans. I do agree that everything will sort itself out and my concerns are more with the parties involved. Let's hope everything works out the best for them. The team will survive and move forward no matter what happens.
