Didn't know he hadn't retired. I'd never seen anything like him back in the Montreal days. haven't seen anything like him since.
yeah, I thought he did a while ago. He signed a minor league contract with the Jays last year and played 12 games between Dunedin and Las Vegas. He signed with the Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League (not affiliated with MLB), but he told them he had family issues at the start of the season and never arrived.
One of the few guys who could hit a home run on a ball literally in the dirt. He had a crazy swing and an insanely bad approach but somehow he made it work very well. On the other hand I thought he retired 2-3 years ago...
Was it his back that gave out on him?(I either forgot, or never knew he signed with Toronto) When he was young and healthy, there wasn't a more exciting player in baseball. IMO anyway. It was amazing what he could do with a well thrown curve.
Probably, and also the last. The next Expo HOFer?
149 OPS+ in eight years up north. 133 in the eight mixed years after...
Proof why the AL is weaker than the NL...Vlad NEVER sniffed an MVP in the NL and goes to the AL and instantly wins one.
Good 'ol Trueniners
He also said Pedro instantly got better moving to the AL even though he went from 219 ERA+ and 1.90 ERA in 1997 to 163 and 2.89 in 1998.
BAM
haha, I don't quite remember that one, but that's certainly Trueniners logic...I wonder where he's posting nowadays.
