I loved our 2 set plays at the end of regulation and OT. First lets set an awful ball screen and then hope we can get a prayer in and then the OT play throwing into the corner... We got really lucky in a really sloppy game. Our offense looked a little better in getting the ball inside.

Glad to see we won. I missed the overtime because I had to leave for dinner but I'm sort of glad I did. Just reading what happened makes me think I probably would have broken something. Nice of Hudson to show up though. While I don't agree with talking shit to him during the game (like that girl next to Croc), he does annoy me quite a bit at times. There are periods of time, sometimes even entire games, when you wonder if he's even out there. He makes no impact at all and is basically just standing around. Today was a prime example. Not a good look for somebody who is suppose to be a senior "leader".


I thought for sure we were going to lose though. We were playing well in the 2nd half. We stopped shooting long 2s off screens and started dumping the ball down low. Once that happened, things freed up. We clawed our way back and then took a 6 point lead. Things were rolling and GT called a timeout with 3 minutes left. Then Greenberg, like an idiot, goes to a 2-3 zone despite it not working in the first half and despite our m2m defense doing a somewhat decent job. Surprise surprise! GT ties the game within seconds.

Then the last play of regulation. Tie game, a tad over 6 seconds left. Plenty of time to get a good shot, preferrably something towards the basket. Either kick out for a shot or drive and force the refs to make a foul call. Easy right? Nope. We run a terrible ball screen with Green dribbling around too much before finally throwing up a contested 3. That's the best you can do? 4 guys stand around while Green dribbles off a screen? I thought for sure poor coaching was going to kill us again. Glad everything worked out.

BTW, to all those who crap on Davila. Today's game shows his value. We got killed inside on rebounds and points in the paint. Raines and Barksdale did a good job offensively, but we definitely missed Davila's presence defensively.

Raines played a great game. DFS wasn't out there a whole lot and he is one of our best rebounders... I just don't get it

I'm soooo glad we actually had something go our way. Tonight's game is big. The instate rival is in town, they're ranked, and we're trying to build something for the future. Motivation shouldn't be an issue. I hope our defense and fans can push Virginia into a similar shooting night as the first go around. I'm not holding my breath that we can sweep, but it'd be some revenge for the year they did it to us while down.
