Gotta steal the inbounds pass. Wood can't get this pass. I might consider fouling someone before they throw it in, not let them cut to get open
that miss was big

Big time shot there, but i think they need to add some time to the clock (if they can even look at that). WOW, he missed. I'm not sure that was a smart TO by Gott, just tell them to foul when he dribbles, the TO sets up a shot for VT.
They can foul and we don't get a chance at a 3
we really need to make an adjustment on the scott wood screen play
Bear hug him so he gets two points instead of three. There really isn't anything to do to stop him IMO. Just hope that he catches it off balance a little bit.
guy defending the screener should step out and slow down Wood to allow his defender to catch up.
Pretty much. I tend to watch the ball too much so I couldn't tell but it looked like we just made the defender run through all the screens instead of offering help in terms of bumping wood, hedging the screen or switching. It was pretty obvious that if Wood caught it with any kind of space; he was going to make the 3. He got all his points besides FT from running around screens. The one time i noticed them try that the post player had an open lane but the pg threw it away trying to get it to him. I think the only way to defend him is to be real physical and grab him and bump him when he is cutting and switch/hedge hard on all screens. Its possible, its just tough because of how quick his release is
43 free throw attempts for State and 7 for us. How does that happen?
