Evan Watkins predicted Cameron Phillips, Steve Sobczak (gray shirt) and 2015 Tremaine Edmunds to us. Also an Ohio State guy predicted Nnadi to us as well.

Well, I guess the depth chart at WR did become a little less muddy with Asante's departure. Has Phillips given any indication on when he would like to announce his college choice?

Taylor announces at 4pm next Monday. With 2 brothers at VT, I don't see how we don't get the third Edmunds

Saw that Shai McKenzie was talking about cancelling his planned visit to Pitt on Twitter. I know that he's high on FSU and they may have the lead, but hoping that Shane can work some magic here.

So FSU just picked up a commitment from Dexter Wideman, a 4 star DT. He is their 3rd DT commitment (Going off of 247) in this class adding to Demarcus Christmas who is also a 4 star and Fredrick Jones who is unranked.
Anybody think this could affect the Nnadi situation with them? My scenarios were that maybe FSU would tell Nnadi no thanks since they locked up 3 DT's and were just waiting on the last one to commit. (Kinda like our WR situation in this class) Or maybe Nnadi himself would just stop considering them because that would be a crowded depth chart. There is also the possibility that this means nothing and that FSU keeps recruiting him and Nnadi really doesn't care about how many other guys there are at the position.

No one would truly know, but I'm trying to spin this in a positive way for us. haha

Lol. Some dude from Vandy247 predicted NNadi to UVA at 2AM this morning. He must have been on a drunken stupor.

Stroman just finished visiting UVa. He says that he will have a decision on August 1st, if not before.

With multiple visits to Hooville recently and a better chance at seeing the field there, I'll be shocked if he chooses VT.

Momma and Poppa really likes VT. It seems to be 50/50...flip a coin.

Sounds like UK has maintained the upper hand.

Yeah..maybe a slight swing but I think VT has a pretty good shot there too..another coin flip. The next week or so is gonna be really good...or really bad with Stroman and Taylor. Hope we get them both to close out OL and DB recruiting with our top remaining (realistic) targets at those positions.

You think Stroman is our top remaining (realistic) target at db? Did I miss bad news with Simmons? I'm not sure Stroman even ends up at db.

Yeah you guys are right. Simmons is rated a bit higher and is pretty high on VT.

It just seems to me that Stroman has been recruited hard the last few weeks and it sounds like he would likely end up at CB and that IF he chooses the good guys, VT may close down DB recruiting (with Reid, Jefferson, and Fisher prepping)...

I have no inside knowledge of this, just MHO.

2 Predictions for Noah Brown to Ohio State.....:L

Simply because he visited there, or was there more to it?

I wonder about some of these predictions. Recruits are generally psyched about whatever school they visited that day.

Then again, it's likely an indication that the visit went well.

2 Predictions for Noah Brown to Ohio State.....:L

The consensus online is that Ohio State will only have about 20 scholarships to hand out this year due to the self-imposed/NCAA restrictions and they are currently up to 14 comittments for 2014. Ohio State is currently listed as the leader for 6 of their high profile targets according to 247. So the best thing that could happen for VT is for Noah Brown to prolong his comittment. But we know that Urban's system is ideal for skill players like Brown. Hopefully, the depth chart plays an important factor.

Pretty much. Another possible visit to VT before deciding but I am not holding my breath there. I am not feeling too great about Izzo either despite what the experts think. It is going to be tough for VT to pull in these high level recruits from the N.E. IMO. Until relationships are established up there, we will probably lose more than we win. You gotta start somewhere though. I commend the staffs efforts up there this recruiting cycle. To even be in contention for some of them is a win in my book.
