Yeah 65-800-5 WR's are impossible to find

In three years, Diggs has had three QB's - a young Bridgewater in 2015, Bradford rushed in at the last second for 2016, and Keenum coming off the bench in game 2 for 2018. He's also going on to his 3rd OC in 4 season going into 2018. It would be wise to see how he does with Cousins before writing him off as average after the potential he has shown.

A young Bridgewater, not everyone gets Aaron Rodgers. Bradford who set the single season record for comp% and Keenum who played so well he was given $36M by John Elway to come start for his team. His 3rd OC, lolzzz you realize he's not the QB right, learn your route tree and catch the ball is pretty much all he needs to do. Who wrote him off? So far he has been nothing but average, potential doesn't mean shit if it never turns into anything.

Hence why they should wait and see how he performs with Cousins. Both Barr and Diggs are in a similar position where I don't feel either has quite earned a monster contract that they probably want. Furthermore, I have more confidence in Zimmer's ability to successfully scout a replacement for Barr than Diggs.

Just look at how may years of incompetence we endured at WR before the Thielen/Diggs tandom finally started working out. We were hoping bums like Charles Johnson would save us at that position as little as three seasons ago, lol. Then of course the stories like Mike Wallace and Greg Jennings who never lived up to their hype here. So they'd better have a better #2 WR in mind than fkn Treadwell or one of the slot type guys they brought in of they are prepared to let Diggs go.

Apparently, both New Orleans and AP are open to a reunion. I really hope they do it and waste the early chunk of another season figuring out that he's done. Maybe we could even get lucky enough for the Vikes to host another game with him as a Saint. It also sounds like he has yet to accept that he is a role player at this point in his career.

Sean Payton open to bringing Adrian Peterson back to Saints with Mark Ingram suspension

Are you facepalming my post, or the possibility of the Saints attempting another go with Adrian Peterson after the first try failed so hard? I don't see what the big deal is with being honest about AP as a player at this point in his career.

First off I didn't facepalm your post I replied with a facepalm, it's different and I did simply because it seems you never let a chance go by without ripping one of the top five players in the history of the Vikings...

I'll admit that I've been a little bitter about the way he left the Vikings and some of the things he's said about the team. That being said, I don't actually wish for him to fail or anything. I just think he made a mistake by not working on developing aspects of his game a little more so he could continue to be relevant at this stage in his career. He's just too old to keep doing the workhorse 25-30 carries per game thing more than a couple games a year anymore and will need to adapt to being a role player if he is to continue playing.

Hunter done @ $14.4 / year. Sounds like a bargain, given his age, production and projection. Good on both sides.

Sounds like they'll either get Barr or Diggs done before camp.... and wait and see on the other. Which one to gamble on? :fear:

My gut says to sign Diggs and wait and see on Barr, if they have to pick between them. I would think Diggs could be signed for a little less as things stand, and I don't like the idea of having just Thielen as our only reliable WR beyond this season.

Tough to say. Diggs has a history of health issues. Barr has been steady and consistent, though disappearing at times. It'll be interesting to see how they experiment with him this year, as an edge rusher; or, is that just something they tried in OTAs and will scrap once the season rolls around.

Zimmer is incredibly biased in favor of the defense, that much is obvious. Thus, he'd prioritize Barr. That being said, Diggs needs to be the priority. Health issues aside, he has yet to reach his ceiling, and he's got the talent to become a star. It would be really stupid to let 24/25 year old very good/great WR go right after spending $84 mil guaranteed on their QB. It would be one thing if Cousins were on the elite level like Rodgers/Brady/Brees, but he's not, so sticking him with scrubs for a supporting cast on offense makes him a complete waste of money.

He averages 67 - 824 - 5

Keep Barr, we can find average receivers in FA or through the draft...

Vikings extend Stefon Diggs to a 5-year deal.

https://usatoday.com/story/869867002

I was calling this back in march, as well as the fact that Anthony Barr would be the last priority for a contract extention. There was no way they were going to let a WR with star caliber potential walk after he caught the "Minneapolis Miracle" pass and they signed Cousins to the richest contract in NFL history.
