Yep, I'd much rather have kept him than Murray.

No way.

Murray is exactly what we need. Mckinnon? Guy is trash i

Look how much better our red zone offense was just having a runningback that can actually pound it in. It was abysmal before Murray

Cook can be that guy. McKinnon is great when we give him the ball in the passing game. He is going to thrive with Garrapolo in Shannahan's offense.

Cook is a guy we want to get the ball to in space. Murray is the power runner get the tough 3. Mckinnon doesnt have a role. And anytime we have tried to make him the guy hes been awful. He needs a Murray type to keep a D honest. Split time back.

Like I said, our redzone offense was vastly improved and thats a product of Murray.

Agreed. McKinnon had his uses in the passing game and occassionally as a rusher when bouncing it to the outside away from where the play was originally called, but he is useless as a conventional runner. He had three opportunities to be "the guy" - 2014 when AP was suspended, 2016 when AP was hurt in game 2, and 2017 when Cook was hurt in game 4. Each time, he delivered backup style results, with his best coming in 2017 with Murray's power rushing complimenting him. Murray is easily the better compliment to Cook than McKinnon, as McKinnon offers nothing that Cook can't already do better.

As for our QB situation, I am glad we got Cousins. Let's be real, this team can't draft QB's for shiit, and the opportunity to sign a player of Cousins's caliber at his age are extremely rare, so it was a no-brainer. Yeah they overpaid to get him, but that's how it is for starting QB's in the NFL these days. For the first time since Culpepper circa 2001, we can finally expect top 10-15 QB play on a fairly consistent basis based more on fact than hope for a few years.

As much as I liked Teddy as a person and admired his attempt (though still unproven) at a comeback from that knee injury, I am relieved that they moved on. I always viewed him as a more accurate passer version of TJax, only with a noodle arm, and now probably a statue in terms of mobility after the injury. Bradford's health obviously couldn't be trusted going forward, and there's almost no chance Keenum replicates his 2017 form on a worse team in Denver. Cousins might not be the guy to take us to a title, but I do think we should be satisfied with him compared to anyone else they could have realistically had a chance to get. If you can believe it might have been possible with Keenum/Teddy/Bradford, then it's certainly possible with Cousins.

Sounds like we're trading with Denver for Siemian to backup Cousins. 2019 5th round pick to Denver.

I guess they didn't have confidence in Kyle Sloter being the #2 QB for 2018. If they think Siemian can be a decent backup, then good trade since they didn't give up much to get him. Hopefully they add some depth on both of the lines before free agency is up.

vikes are idiots…

case in point:

bench rider…alltime PAC12 leading passer, all-time.

give em a 1st rounder.

Um... what? You wanted them to give a 1st rounder for Sean Mannion? What has he done in the NFL to justify giving up a 1st rounder for?

FUC any other QB the vikes would able to pickup…Mannion is a winner (holds most passing records) in the PAC and will be again for any team willing to get him the hell out of LA.

the beauty is he will be cheap to get for the reason you stated above, IMO.

Murray willing to re-structure. That's good.
