It looks like he is going to be the pic at #5. We have no OLB depth after Kerrigan and Murphy. We have good Dline depth. If we sign Cox we will have good CB depth. The only positions that would lack depth are S and ILB.

Dean, we gotta get a right tackle in here. I hope Compton and Nixon aren't the plan. I am all for getting one of the olbs, especially with the re-built d-line. They should find things a little easier, but not at the expense of completely ignoring the o-line.

I know we somewhat chased Iupati and Baluga, but I could live with fixing the guards next year, but RT has to be addressed.

Might have to bite bullet. I agree 5 is high, but part of me thinks I would rather take a guy at 5 that I think can play for 10 to 12 years, than overpay for a vet because of my big board says no right tackle in the top 5.

Free agent tackles don't come cheap. If they could sign a Barksdale, Hariston, or Long to a short, low, prove it deal, I'd be ok.

I agree. Theres no tackle, leaping to mind, worth the 5th overall pick. There are a lot of solid ones available in those two rounds.

Skinsdad-
If we sign Cox, which is being reported that its 90% done, then we shouldn't draft Waynes. I like Waynes alot but that pick would probably be for Fowler or Beasley as they are both ranked higher or at least equal to Waynes. I hope we don't go WR.

We should be able to find our RG in the draft in the early rounds as well. I am glad we did sign Iupati or Boiling as I think we can find good value with that 2nd round pick. Guards typically start going in the 2nd round anyways so we should get a top 3 Guard in the draft.

AJ Cann will be there in the 2nd round and is the best OG in this draft. So if we want a OG that would be the pick. Its funny that Chester is still on the team. I thought he would of been released by now. If Chester is still on the team at draft time I would pass on the OG position b/c we would have Chester, Levnvo, and Long.

Depth at ILb is also a need b/c there is nobody behind Robinson and Riley. If we sign Cox and J. Johnson that should take care of the secondary and we should stay away from that position in the draft. It looks like Beasely is going to be the pick at #5 unless Ray has an unbelievable pro day but he has major flaws in his game.

I'd be perfectly fine with Scherff@5 and Matias@38. If we can land Golston and Johnson this week that would help.

I am so sick of arguing OL at 5. Pay attention folks, our GM will draft the BPA. That's what he said and it's what he has always done. And there is no OL that shows a #5 grade, not even close.

As for Beasley he looks like Gregory, another LB in a WR body. I have a hard time believing he can shed an NFL LT. I prefer Fowler if he's there.

Guys, if Chester is still on team at draft time you still want to draft an OG?

@Darrell Green Fan personally I don't care WHO the pick is at 5 as long as he's the BPA, makes sense for this team and helps make us better in the long run.

Whether it's an edge rusher, MM or a trade down...I'm going to trust SM to evaluate the talent appropriately. But I do want the Oline to be addressed at some point in the draft.

From everything I've read about SM, an Oline guy is not likely to be his pick for us, if we stay at 5. But who the hell knows really.
