Ben Bishop, Tuukka Rask and Semyon Varlamov named Vezina Trophy finalists - 2014 NHL Awards

No surprises and a very tough choice. Cases could be made for all three.

Should be Rask, but any one of them can get it.

Varly is my choice - really helped take the Avs from worst to first and he has to face a ton of shots every night - he was dominant this season

What no MAF or Bryz?

Varlamov is my choice also for the same reason as Cobie but would be perfectly fine with Rask since he is statistically the best of the three.

Of the 3 Rask has the better GAA, SV %, and is far ahead with 7 shutouts. Should be Rask running away.

Since the trophy is for the goaltender judged to be the best at his position, they should only let goalies and not writers vote for it.

A lot of writers barely understand hockey, they'd have no chance understanding goaltending.

Maybe. Some of them don't understand goaltending either.

The Vezina Trophy is awarded annually to the National Hockey League's goaltender who is "adjudged to be the best at this position". At the end of each season, the thirty NHL general managers vote to determine the winner.

Typically not crazy about this award since there was a season or 2 where, my personal bias aside, Marty should've won it but it was in the midst of the Hasek lovefest combined with the "Marty has a better D in front of him" excuse. So if we're still playing by those idiotic rules Tuuka should not win it.

I'd vote for Varly, but Rask will win it.

I don't think Varlamov could be happier with how this season has gone for him considering where it started out.
