here is how i see the roster shaking out

QB haskins Allen , i am going with 2 here . i see montez on the PS and smith on the pup (2)

RB guice , Love gibson barber , i dont see how AD fits in other then as a stopgap or love not being able to go . the battle will be between barber and JD i list gibson as a RB but he really is a WR (4)

Wr TMAC , simms JR , harmon , AGG ,lattimer , Isaiah Thomas , i have quinn being cut i think thomas is bigger , faster more versatile and is a better returner . (6)

OT . Lucas , Charles Moses Christian i think Lucas is as good as Penn was . charles could push for the job by mid season and christian is the biggest question and could be cut . (4)

OG/ center sherff , martin , roullier ismael schweitzer (5)

kicker duckfoot
punter way
LS sundberg (3)

that is a total of 24

defense

D/line young, RK ION , Allen , payne sweat settle , brantley smith williams anderson . i listed anderson as DE even though he will move around . (10)

LBS davis SDH foster holcomb , hudson , louis i believe foster will be ready to go by camp, if not then its bostic (6)

CBS FM darby , fuller , moreland johnson stroman (6) injuries killed us last year here and darby isnt exactly the model of health

Safety Collins , davis , everette , Curl (4) considered apke here but went with curl because he can play CB

that is a total of 26

that leaves 3 spots open and it gives a cushion to add a TE (moss) a qb or keep an extra RB of safety depending on needs

So, no TE's on the roster unless they use that cushion to add one or two?

I think that's Isaiah Wright. Agreed that Quinn's a step to slow to stay on the roster.

Considering the choices, overlooking the spot was easy to do.

  1. Skins are obviously not optimistic about Foster.

    via Bleacher Report
    Report: Redskins Decline Foster's Option
Redskins won't pick up LB Reuben Foster's fifth-year option, has yet to play a game for the team

    Washington Redskins
    Report: Redskins Decline Foster's Option

i wouldnt read anything into that at all . i wouldnt pick up the option for what he has shown thus far . prove it on the field .

i have posted his workouts on this forum . he appears to be making lots of progress

but no i wouldnt give him a 5th year based on what has happened here . he hasnt played a down . so what he has to do is go out , win a job , stay on the field andthen get a contract from the skins that reflects his play and value as a football player

For kickoff returners, you want a pure speed guy with some power. That sounds perfect for AG. And for punt returner, you want a guy with quickness that's going to make the first guy miss. Sounds like Wright and Simms. Really, all of them can do KO returns, but AG seems ideal. I think our real gem on special teams might be Hudson - even aside from the blocked punts, he seem like the kinda guy you look for on special teams.

With June cuts coming, this team will likely add a few players having to cut a few players. Still way too early!

I would expect some (especially young) guys to be let go for RR/Smith guys. I think the article nailed a few and there are probably a couple of others. I LOVE that RR is all about competition (at least I hope that is true.) Earning positions makes players better, giving away positions creates entitlement. Maybe this is harder for the younger generations, it was all we had in my generation. Ask tomcat, Sty, dad and my old ass is forgetting a couple of names. You won on the field or you got cut.
