Let them give it a go. In the 80s they were messed up parents, now let them be messed up grandparents. If it gets bad resting, axe the show after 6 episodes.

Has anyone though of the problem with the whole grandparents angle for the Griswold's yet?

That being, for every movie, they had different people playing the kids? As such, who would they get or choose to play Rusty & Audrey this time around?

That's because the majority of child actors grow up and change, while adult actors can play a character for years upon years.

Maybe have Anthony Michael Hall play Rusty, and have Ethan Embry play Audrey's husband (or vice-versa)? Could be a running gag throughout the show of Clark continuing to get the two of them confused.

Now THERE is an idea. Bring back ALL the kids, and just have some play different roles, just to give the movie a sub plot to run through the entire movie.

Griswolds as a TV show? No thanks. A new movie of them being grandparents might be worthwhile, but the reason the Griswolds are classics is because you get small doses of them. a weekly program isn't going to create that.
