I asked a few weeks ago if a TV commercial was removed.

There used to be a commercial break right after the 6 min mark of every quarter.

Today, there was continuous coverage, from 8:16 of Jazz vs. Clippers, until the end of the quarter.

No breaks.

So I think it's true. A mid commercial break has been removed in NBA broadcasting.
