Yeah... the "D" is young but so is the "O-Line" if one wants to go there. Wilcox just likes the "Zone D" too much, IMO. That's why I was shocked to see how effective the "man-to-man" was against UCLA. It WORKED...
All said, though... USC is just playing lousy & uninspired right now. NOT a good combination...
At some point these highly rated recruits on the line have to show up on the field consistently. We're talkin Some of these guys on o-line and d-line were rated top 10 at their positions. Maybe it's coaching. They brought in Chris Wilson from Georgia to coach dline and somebody from ok state to coach oline. Both have underachieved imo.
