I can't get used to this grey ice.
looks like bad lighting until you see the center ice circle.

that US player looks like he fucked himself up pretty seriously on the the back of canada's net just before that.
Unless his stick got stuck under the net. anyways, took a while for him to get back to the bench.

some big hits from these kids.
on a related note: Dumba's a fun player to watch.

I think we're starting to see one team who played less than 24 hours ago versus a team with almost 3 days rest. Canada is hanging in though.

1-1 after 2 periods.

How that wasn't called a 5 min major for elbowing I'll never know...

stunning that that hit was only 2 minutes.
in the OHL, Branch would have thrown 20 games at him.

didn't touch the puck, blindside hit, elbow extended, headshot... had all the criteria

I mean IIHF refs are conditioned to lay down the law on headshots. Oh well, congrats to the US on today's 2-1 victory.

Any thoughts on D Jacob Trouba's game?

He looked very solid back there, but the guy on the American D that impressed me the most was Seth Jones (son of former NBA player Popeye Jones). Great skater and a rocket of a shot.

Jones probably won't beat out MacKinnon for 1st overall next year, but he's probably a lock for the top 5, if not top 3.
