Very literally the definition of what's happened here. Both Urban AND his wife are OSU employees.

How did they ignore it? Is there a requirement to terminate? If there is a police investigation, what more are they obligated to do?

Typically no one does. But in this particular case - they're coaches at major universities - PUBLIC universities. By default they are in the limelight. As mentioned, if most people were involved in something like this they'd be fired in an instant by their employer. What's more annoying is that we treat these public facing people differently than your average employee because they win football games and make money.

Typically everybody DOES. Hollywood, politics, major corporations,
they're all firing people and ruining people's lives, because of this
stuff or similar.

Hollywood is the one that reall bothers me. Now, personally,
I have no use for any of those people out there, but sexually
\assaulting gals in Hollywood is nothing new. That has been
an open secret for 80 years.

That's how gals "auditioned" for a role in movies. They weren't
complaining when they were making 5 million.

They were willing participants when a chance at a lead in the movie
was at stake.

The real problem here, in this case, is not what happened but
the lie and cover-up by Meyer. He knew this guy did that at
UF, and he rehired him at Ohio St. That's why Meyer lied.
Because he knew this could be an issue. Because he knew it
before, he would be dragged into it. So he lied. And, he is
still going to be dragged into it and he slso has to explain the
lie.

I think the guy needs to spend more time at home with his
children. Seems like I've heard that before.

Dude, that was a freak accident. The kid was filming practice. Yes it was a bad idea having him up there in 50 mph+ winds but that is different that Kelly directly doing something to him.

Because Urban has a duty to report that up or handle the situation. knowing about it in 2009 and 2015 and allowing it to continue, despite his wife reaching out for help, is literally the definition of ignoring. It couldn't be spelled out any clearer.

That's exactly what it is. Apparently lying to the press is now a fire able offense. Are we going to fire every politician that's ever existed if that's the new standard?

If he lied to the cops/obstructed an official police investigation. THEN I could see it. People are really reaching here.

That being said I wouldnt be shocked if he is forced to "resign" because of the current outrage culture in America's current climate. We will see though.

Its not that cut and dry. As Deep Creek mentioned earlier, Meyer as a public employee is a mandated reporter. No different than if he was aware of child abuse by another staff member. He denied any knowledge of past incidents when Smith was fired last week. He is denying he knew about criminal acts

You are saying he didnt. Where in any article did it say Meyer didnt not report what he knew to his superiors?

Where/when/how did he ignore? You are saying because Meyer didnt fire the guy he ignored. Do you believe firing the guy would have stopped the abuse?
