Anybody remember the Washington Spurriers?
Jaguars have had...what...1 good season in the past decade? Not an easy place for a QB and coach to go imo.I’ll give this 2 years before they start talking about him squandering T-Law’s career.
Even with Meyer at the helm, the Jags have to go with Lawrence at #1 overall, right?
I'm with the lady on this one. There will be full stadiums again, if not at some point this season, it'll be next. Just my 2 cents.
Not at all a good place. Khan is also establishing a bad pattern of pissing off his star players. A coach would be on a short leash right off the bat.Jaguars have had...what...1 good season in the past decade? Not an easy place for a QB and coach to go imo.
When I say this season, I mean the upcoming season. The 2021 season. This season has like 3 weekends of football left.
Tebow has plenty of trick plays up his sleeve…his favorite, “the reacharound”in before urb starts the tight end under center.....
just being polite... wwjd?Tebow has plenty of trick plays up his sleeve…his favorite, “the reacharound”
But being serious...I had a little voice in the back of my head that TL wasn't going to live up to the hype but watching him in college it would hard to believe that. He had everything and more at Clemson...they had zero weaknesses, he has never really faced adversity from that standpoint. I think he will be a bigger project than people think and once in a while will make that ridiculous play but in reality will just be ok at first. People were acting like he would come into the league like Andrew Luck and leading his team to 11 wins (even Luck struggling at first). They did get him a couple weapons but overall the Jags are not a good team and it could take 3-4 years to rebuild this team. Is it crazy to think TL could be the 4th best in this rookie class? I just think he has more weaknesses than people think, they are more clear watching him in these two preseason games as well.Urban is gonna ruin trevor lawrence. Oof.
Totally agree. I don't think he will be a bust just suggesting he won't be as good as advertised. Remember, we are talking about a #1 recruit over Justin Fields and before he even went to Clemson he was raved as a potentially #1. Then early in his college career, suggestions he will already be a great QB in this league and future All-Pro. He has lived up to expectations to this point, I just think we need to pump the brakes. He is still a rookie and still has a huge learning curve imo. It could very well be that Urban isn't the coach for TL but I also think he isn't the clear picture picture QB people believe. The fact is I don't care how talented or great you are...you still need a coach that will exploit your strengths and fix your weaknesses. I guess we will see if Urban can do that, he seemed to do a pretty damn good job of that in college but the NFL is a different beast.I don't have a lot of confidence in Meyer, but I would pump the brakes on any suggestion that Lawrence will bust at this point.
A likely scenario in my view is that Meyer doesn't last more than a year in his job, maybe two, and then a new coach gets to try and work with Lawrence, which might make a big difference.
People will surely liken this to Jimmy Johnson and Aikman going 1-15 in their first year with Dallas, but that's a bad comparison because Jimmy had a plan and a lot of confidence he could turn things around with the draft. Meyer inspires no such confidence. By the end of that 1-15 season you could actually see Dallas improving a lot, notably on defense.
Oh man that sucks. Yeah that is a very bad injury and he will probably be in a walking boot, alone, up to 12 weeks. The news about Etienne being hurt also clouds the Jags' future even more. Two words you never want to hear for a runner: "Lisfranc injury"
