Guard Matt Slauson, who actually had the stones to put his name to his comments, was unequivocal in his support of incumbent quarterback Mark Sanchez, saying the distance between him and backups Tebow and Greg McElroy is "not even close ... We don't really have a choice." Oh, and about those backups? "We have Greg ... and we have an athlete," Slauson told the Daily News.

That's not cool of Slauson to do. At the end of the day, he is still your teammate. You guys should ride and die together. He has a right to feel that way, but to bash and throw his own teammate under the bus is pathetic IMO.

Please. While I agree in a vacuum that players should keep it in the room, this is the NY Jets we're talking about here. On a team where everyone from the owner, HC, and players from Revis down to the 3rd string QB open their mouths when they shouldn't I'm not going to come down on Slauson in particular for answering a question openly and honestly. Boundaries trickle down from above.

The aforementioned mouth-openers all put their names on what they've said. When a bunch of cowards, yes cowards, can't even manage to do so, THAT is when I break out "pathetic."
