lol Well......yes that could be enough for them. I cant really laugh too much tho. I am a Steelers fan.

I feel your pain. I am not much further behind you as a Redskins fan. Hope things pick up.

I was telling someone yesterday that if things continue this way this season it might ruin the national economy since there are probably a lot of bars across the country that will go under if Steelers fans are not there every Sunday.

We all know a college team could never keep up with an NFL team.

Here is the real idea:

What if you took the WNBA champion, and had them play the boys state high school champs from NY or Illinois? Throw that game on PPV, and I'm sure I would pony up the $30 or so to watch it.

Wouldn't the ridicule of losing to a college team be all the motivation they would need? Game wouldn't be close

I don't know if any of you are old enough to remember when every year a team of college all-stars would play the defending NFL champs in the first exhibition game of the season. The college kids won some of those games.

Pros (most of them anyway) played long enough for free. They're motivated by money.

A lot of those fans have already found another bandwagon to jump on.

Instead of the Pro Bowl, they used to have a college All-Star vs. the NFL champion game.

It ended because the all-stars were rarely even competitive.

Yep and that was a college ALL STAR team! They did win a few games but for the most part they got it handed to them. So there's no way even the number one ranked team would beat an NFL team.

A college 1st team all-american team may actually compete with the Jags...... that's as far as I'm taking this debate.

Could you imagine if they even attempted to have that game now? The union would fight it all the way. As bad as the Pro Bowl is this one might be even worse. No NFL player is going to risk injury for this type of thing. Things had to be quite different at that time.

It would be fun to watch though. Just to see the talent difference.

Pretty funny recap of the last time that College All-Star game was played. Would never happen now since 1.) probably neither side would display much effort due to fear of injury 2.) most NFL teams would not allow their draft picks to play & 3.) no way in hell they let any fans onto the field:

_____________________________________________________________________

The last game took place during a downpour at Soldier Field on July 23, 1976. Despite featuring many stars , the rookies were hopelessly outmatched by the Pittsburgh Steelershttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pittsburgh_Steelers, winners of SB Xhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_X. The star quarterback for the College All-Stars was Pittsburgh Steeler draft pick Mike Kruczekhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Kruczek. Late in the third quarter, with the Steelers leading 24-0, high winds prompted all-star coach Ara Parseghianhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ara_Parseghian called time out. Fans began pouring out onto the field and sliding on the turf. With no security guards in sight and the rain getting harder, the officials ordered both teams to their locker rooms. All attempts to clear the field failed; the fans even tore down the goalposts. However, by this time the rain had become so heavy as to make the field unplayable even if order had been restored. Finally, at 11:01 pm NFL Commissioner Pete Rozellehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_Rozelle and the Tribune announced that the game had been called. The news was greeted with jeers, and numerous brawls broke out on the flooded field before order was finally restored

Tony Dungy was on the Dan Patrick show today and stated Alabama would give the Jags a good game, and Manziel could probably put up enough points to win.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Jags win easy.

You should never buy anything he says.

A college team could never beat an NFL team.

I do think the great UConn women's teams could beat a community college men's team though in basketball if they played with a women's ball. That would be hilarious. I think they actually practiced with the UConn men as well which is ridiculous.

The Jags would CRUSH Bama. This debate is silly

Easily. And for some reason, people say this every year. They look at a great college team & say it could beat an NFL team.

The best college team in the last 10 years would lose to the worst NFL team in the last 10 year by like 40 points. The comparison is absurd.
