My Son just won his Pro debut, he's only 21 so we only allow him to fight 2-3 times per year because of how difficult the weight cuts are. He cut from 205 to a catchweight of 178. Sad part is, if you don't cut and hydrate, you are looking at a 20 pound weight deficit on fight night, especially the guys that are roided up and taking IV's after weigh inFight cancelled. Khabib was hospitalized dude to a bad weight cut. UFC really need to be more proactive in preventing stuff like this. These severe weight cuts are getting ridiculous. It's only a matter of time before something really bad happens

I don't know how you fix it. My Son was on an LFA card, the main card was on AXS. If you go to same day weigh in's, you run the risk of having a few fights not make due to missed weights and have no time to add bouts, running the risk of cancelling a card, which would be a disaster. It's toughGeez. That's a steep cut. I was reading some speculation that Khabib had to drop something similar (close to 30 pounds) in a day to try to make weight. I just think that stuff is too dangerous. I don't really know how to change it though. Maybe weigh the fighters during camps and make rules that they can only fight in divisions within a certain small % of their weight?
