Still not confirmed by the Devils yet, but Dreger is claiming former Panthers coach Deboer is the new Devils coach.

Thoughts to come later once it's official.

Kinda reminds me of julien a few years back total left field. It's a Good move just has to be able to stay more then a year give him 2 years

+1. Also, Clarkson apparently loves this guy. Guided his JR team to a memorial cup when clarky was on the team.

Uh oh, Mark Fraser was his captain on one of the teams he coached. Lou, TRADE FRASER ASAP. Can't have him in the lineup please!. He also coached Zajac at a WC and Halischuk, who's obviously gone. Clarky was on his MC team.

was definately my top choice, but like clarky, i'm shocked this is the way lou went.

i think hes the first good transition coach we've had in that he will keep the same basic structure, but is more adept in identifying with players in todays day and age which of course (in my mind at least) is a good thing when you're roster is getting WAAAAAY younger

I take it his gameplan is similar to Sutter's? That's what I'm hoping for anyway. I liked the puck possession style he had. Obviously we'll see how things turn out but I like this signing.
