I'm not holding my breath...

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley says the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion should be back on track if a National Energy Board report due later this month "goes our way."

Last summer, the Federal Court of Appeal quashed the project's approval, bringing construction to a halt. The court ordered the NEB to undertake additional consultation on the impact of tanker traffic on the marine environment off the coast of B.C. The report is due on Feb. 22.

"I don't think it's going to be in the courts for years," Notley told Rosemary Barton, co-host of The National, before an audience of about 300 at a discussion on the future of Alberta's energy sector in Edmonton on Tuesday.

"I do think we're going to get the approval back in play. I think we're going to get shovels in the ground later this year."

Trans Mountain should be back on track pending NEB update, Notley says | CBC News

From the State of the Union

“...reject the politics of revenge, resistance and retribution and embrace the boundless potential of cooperation, compromise and the common good.”

That's a great sentiment. I wonder which Democratic or Republican candidates for 2020 could accomplish that because our racist, lying, criminal, name-calling President isn't getting that done.

"...hottest economy in the world. Not even close."

Don't say we didn't try to warn you, moron.

And hey, thanks for dragging the rest of us down with you.
Doesn't mean both weren't correct. Tax cuts to the rich were stupid, but so is the rampant extremism of Stacey Abrams wanting non-citizens the ability to vote.

Strawman argument. Not something any Democrat has advocated for. From Abrams' speech last night:
"This is the next battle for our democracy, one where all eligible citizens can have their say about the vision we want for our country. We must reject the cynicism that says allowing every eligible vote to be cast and counted is a power grab..."

There is no doubt that both parties have done plenty of gerrymandering. But Republicans have made MANY efforts by changing early voting hours, not restoring voting rights, attacking the voting system to undermine faith in it's results with no evidence, implementing voter ID laws despite no evidence they will be effective (and often in unfair ways), and trying to make voter registration more difficult.

Their goal in these efforts is obvious. Not to ensure a fair voting system and represent the goals of our republic, but to ensure victories for their party. But just to be sure, they've actually told us their goal explicitly...

All true. I was misled and fooled into thinking she actually pushed for immigrants who aren't citizens, to be able to vote.

I'm a fool!

I still think the Dems best chance in 2020 is Beto O'Rourke - If not him, Joe Biden.

LOL....what is sad there are way too many folks that believe it just because Trump and others like him said so.

Sadly folks in Georgia believed Kemp and it got him elected.

I think Biden would be a great choice. But the trouble is that people don't take him as seriously now. He has this kind of bumbling image which I don't think is representative of who he really is, but your image becomes what you are in politics.

We need to find someone who captures all the things Trump voters clearly want - a person without a plan, poor knowledge base, maybe some sexual indiscretions to appeal to the religious crowd, some lawsuits and criminal indictments overhanging, and someone who identifies a largely blameless crowd to pin all of our problems on. Tough to recreate that Trump magic!
