Isiah Washington leaving gophers
I figured this might happen. I never felt like Pitino used him right

Not surprised. Does that leave us with 4 open scholarships now? Murphy, Dupree, Stull, Stockman, IW all gone. Only have one guy signed. Pitino needs to close big time.
He had some decent moments but he was never reliable enough. Plus with Carr being eligible next year he would have probably seen the same amount of playing time. Gabe's gonna be a starting guard the rest of his career as should Carr. Pretty nice back court the next 3 seasons. And hopefully Willis is a more athletic Stull so Gabe doesn't have to play 35 mins a game.
Yup 4 to go.
Sam Freeman, Northwest, Center (BK)
I think is our next commit
Ryan James is convinced there is a transfer that's basically a done deal
And I believe we're front runner with Grant
Grant Sherfield, Sunrise Christian, Combo Guard
Austin Crowley has asked for a release from Vandy and we were in his final 3, so I wouldn't be surprised if we went after him hard
Of our losses the only real loss is Murphy.
I think Carr easily replaces Dupree production, Willis can't be worse than Stull....Matz was useful bench guy, but not vital.
Is the Freeman kid any good? It doesn't look like he's even rated? I am encouraged by his VT and TCU offers though so that does make me think he's a high major player.
Sherfield would be a nice pick up. He has a nice offer list as well.
And I saw the same rumor regarding a transfer big. Hopefully it's somebody eligible right away. We need bodies.
I'm not going to pretend to be a scout.
Freeman, we've been recruiting him for over a year, so it's not like we just offered him out of desperation. Staff sees something they like in him, and our last big from Texas did ok
That's fair, I don't pretend to be one either. Was just wondering if you had any information. If he turns out to be as good as Murphy that's obviously a home run.
No insider knowledge on Freeman and not much out there as a recruit. I'd be a little skeptical if we just threw the offer out last week, but we've been on him a year...From what I know he's bigger than his recruiting profile, he's closer to 6'10 and 220 now
Would make for a good back up to Oturu. I don't see how he could be any worse than stockman. But I still have nightmares of Konate and Diedhou(sp)
Pitino has had too many misses, he needs to improve that going forward. I think 2019/2020 class really determine his future here at MN
Agreed. He's gotta close strong in 2019 and hit it big for 2020. That's a great year of Minnesota high school recruits.
Avery Johnson effect?
Back to Zona maybe ?Jahvon Quinerly, former 5 star player, gone from Villanova.
Gee, play a McDonalds All-American 9 minutes a game and he transfers? Shocker.
I actually think he'll be quite good, and good pick up for whomever gets him.
Jay Wright stuck to his guns and chose a former 2-star player as his point guard over a McDonalds AA, and you gotta respect him for that, but I would have liked to have seen what Quinerly could have done.
They have a PG now.Back to Zona maybe ?
