Well, the trade was made so there's no point in piling on (unless it's vetoed and is revisited).

If you do have a few tough weeks (it may start right away if Ivory's back), I wouldn't panic. Le'Veon will help Week 6, and maybe SJAX will be back in a couple of weeks. That will help ease the loss of Charles a little.

fantasy is a huge gamble, and no one can predict the future. 1 big reason that I am not sold on Powell replacing Charles and being a servicable RB2:

Both Goodson and Ivory will be back in a Jets uniform and healthy for gameday at some point this season. NYJ's have been RBBC for years now. Not cutting Goodson when he had that legal trouble means SOMETHING, just not sure what. Powell was a great late draft pick/waiver add, but I think his time as a legit RB2 will indeed end, before the fantasy season ends.

Trade Bilal Powell & Jordan Cameron & Marques Colston & Peyton Manning for Jamaal Charles & Jimmy Graham & Robert Griffin III & Wes Welker

This is interesting. While the person I traded with does get the better players according to this, it is interesting to see how low they value RGIII.
Welker is also an interesting story. The most TD's he has ever scored in a season is 9. He already has 6. There is just no way he continues on the tear that he is on, is it?

Well, that depends on if you think manning will continue this pace, and since you do believe manning will(since you got him) then you have to assume welker as the #2 receiver will continue these numbers... You cant have it both ways...

I honestly do not think manning will keep this up, not because he cant, but because they wont have too... Also they will want to establish their running game, the Broncos came into this season like the Yankees always did, where the regular season does not matter and it is a Championship or bust... The broncos know this, and will want to do everything they can to be a better team for the playoffs... This means that they will need to run(freezing winter weather and good defenses will make the run more important). I am stashing montee ball in a couple of my leagues because i think by week 10 he will become the full time RB and expect him to be an elite RB2...

how low they value RGIII

Their valuation comes from their secret formula, but obviously year-to-date has a lot to do with it. They have, what, a difference of 15 between Peyton and RGIII? I bet by Week 8 it's under 10.

I think it is safe to say that Welker will not score 20 TDs, but he has also never played with Peyton, so his past stats are not necessarily indicative. Peyton looks for Welker an awful lot in the red-zone. When Welker catches the ball in stride at the 5, he is going to score more often than not.

I would put the over under for the season at 12 TDs. He has a really good chance to hit that number, or even exceed it. I was not a believer before the season, but I am now.

Let's look at this another way. I like to ask the following question when valuing players:

If your league drafted today, where would each player be selected? In standard formats, this is how I break it down.

Here is what you gave:

Charles- Top 3 overall, either pick 2 or 3
Graham- Late 1st or early 2nd
Welker- Late 2nd or early 3rd
RG3- 6th -8th

What you got:
Peyton- Mid first round- his outstanding start along with some RB struggles moves him up
Cameron- Late 3rd to early 4th- He looks for real, but still lacks Graham's track record
Colston- 6th-7th- Seems to be fading
Powell- 5th-6th- Committee lead for now, but how long does that last?

Sorry man, but you still lose big here. Charles is the most valuable player in the deal, not Peyton. If you were selling high on any of these player's hot starts, I would understand. Thing is, you didn't sell high. You took 3 red hot players and dealt them away for pre-season value.

This is what we meant, I think (another spectacular game from Peyton):

Peyton v. Eli (since RGIII on bye): 17 or 21 (depending on scoring rules)
Powell v. Charles: -14 (Ivory and Goodson hurting him)
Colston v. Welker: -9
Cameron v. Graham: -10

So you're down 12 or 16 this week, depending on passing-TD scoring. Colston and Cameron will usually be better, but this is probably about what we'll see from Powell the rest of the way. With Bell back maybe Powell's on your bench from now on.

Even though I hated the trade, my guess is once SJAX is healthy you'll be fine.

I'm assuming you aren't so confident with Powell today? Peyton better repeat his week 1 performance every week from here on out! Not to mention RG3 putting up 29. Double ouch.

...we tried to warn ya

LOL -- I agree that he's been playing bad, but he doesn't "blow"...and during this bad stretch, he has more points than Brady, Cam and Kaepernick!!! If one of them were in this deal in place of RG3, what would everyone be saying??

wow, are you serious?

bad, bad deal.

i agree no way i make that deal

ouch trade away charles and graham ouch ouch ouch

Thats giving up way too much for Manning. Youre giving up advantages at RB, TE, and WR so you can get a little better at QB. Thats a terrible deal for you. Wait a little longer on RG3. Hes getting his legs underneath him.

And to the guy who said Manning will win you weeks by himself is wrong. I beat the team with Peyton Manning in my league when he threw for 7 tds. Hell help out, but you cant gut your team and expect him to make it to the playoffs for you. Theres also a very good chance he tapers off during the fantasy playoffs because the Broncos will stop trying as hard/rest their starters.
