Should the Redskins consider trading our precious draft picks to move into the 1st round to get ILB Mosley? ILB is a HUGE need for the Redskins and after Mosley the talent for ILB drops a lot. Mosley is graded at 93 while the next best Borland is graded at 85, then the 3rd best ILB Skov is graded at 62.

no...more people are going to get cut, I'm sure we will sign a FA ILB. We may roll the dice on C.Jones from FSU.
Also, man I'm totally on board with A.Robinson from PSU for the 2nd pick if Benjamen's gone. Looks like an immediate possession receiver with some deceptive YAC ability.

It just depends on how far we have to go up. IF he's still there in the 25th or later pick, it might not cost that much and he is one of a very few that I would consider trading up for. He can step right in and be a starter for very cheap (relatively speaking). I would love to land this guy, but don't see him dropping past 12-15. At that point, it would cost too much. We just have too many holes.

A-Rob is very deceptive. He will never burn anyone but will out jump the CB to the ball then break off a nice run after the catch. Benjamin I'm worried about. He is a TE not a WR I feel with his size. He would be great in redzone but we need WR's to get us near the redzone first.

We can't count on Robinson. If he is healed, gravy. But we need to plan that he will be nothing more than a sub and STs contributor. If he pans out to starter material, we have only made our team stronger.

It depends on how far we have to trade up:

To trade up to 25- it would take our 2, 4, and 5...or we would trade 2, 3, 5 and get 3

To trade up to 30 - it would take our 2 and 4 and we'd likely get a 4

Under no circumstance do I trade next year's one.

I have to agree with skinem. With FA we can pick one up and likely at an OK price. Trading a 3rd or 4th rounder along with our 2nd is not the way to go IMO. There will be some guys 3rd or 4th worth taking a chance on.

I feel pretty confident that if we had a mid 1st rounder this year we would take Mosley though.

I'd give up a fourth rounder in a heartbeat for him. The odds of Mosely being a stud are far greater than a 4th rounder being productive.

I disagree mostly because we are only 2 picks from the 1st round plus it depends on who everyone thinks is first round talent. I might think Allen Robinson is 1st round talent while you might think he is 3rd round talent.

We are still hurting from the last stud we traded up for. So my vote would be.. please no.

I believe I miss read what you said. I took what you said was NO first round talent will fail to us not No we shouldn't trade because 1st rd talent will still fail to us.

Also for the record I am NOT advocating for us to trade into the 1st rd to get Mosley, I was curious what everyones thoughts were. I say we stay put or trade back into the 2nd half of the 2nd round for more picks.

There's a difference between trading up and giving up first round talent...and trading up for 4th round talent. The odds of a fourth rounder hitting are low.

Another plus to trading into the first round is the extra year on the contract.

Well there is also the perception that an ILB is not that valuable. And honestly, includes me in that. I would rather have elite pass rushers and secondary than an elite ILB. There is a gaping hole there for sure going into this draft. But I feel like it may be filled via FA. If we had the #15 pick, I would say sure..take him. But we have too many holes to fill. And although the theory that a 4th rounder is more a miss than not (and that is true) we need to approach the draft like our 2nd-4th rounders are going to be starters sooner than later. I don't know the statistics, but I would bet the odds of you getting a starter drops greatly after the 4th.

It drops greatly after the 1st.
