8-10 could get a B1G team into the NCAA Tourney this year.

8 wins with a couple of those being quality wins puts any B1G team right on the bubble. Nebraska already has 1 win that will end up being quality. Now if we can go get a big win at Penn State, suddenly we have an opportunity to pick up a few wins in a row here.

I'm not saying Nebraska realistically can get into the Tourney this year, but it's honestly not out of the question now that we got this one under our belt.

They've only got one.

I don't see 7 more wins. 6 is a stretch.

The good thing is the Conference tourney counts if they can steal a game there.

We have games in Lincoln against:

Minnesota
Indiana
Illinois
Penn State
Purdue
Northwestern
Wisconsin

I think we could win 6 out of those 7 and I shit ye not. The only team in that group that is really playing well right now is Wisconsin, and that will be our final game of the year so there will be a lot going into that one.

On the road we obviously have some winnable games starting with the one on Thursday against Penn State.

I think we can get 8 wins.

It's not completely out of the question if they can take some confidence from this win and build on it. They should get better and better as time goes on.

However, the Huskers played real good tonight and tOSU played real bad.

I'd be pleased with NIT in Miles 2nd year considering where he started from.

We are tough to beat in Lincoln, but shit on the road. That's what worries me.

This is actually where it starts. If we're tougher at home, that's what a coach wants...home court advantage. The kind of shit that Miles fought for at CSU.

Nebraska is in real good position to win their next two games.

If they gained some confidence off that win last night and can take that into Happy Valley that game is winnable. Follow that up with Minny at home (another winnable game), then they'll they'll only need to find 6 more.

They need to steal a couple of road games they're percieved to have a chance in, and they must win 4 of those home games against the coin flip opponents.
It sure would have been nice to have won that Michigan game in the Pinnacle that went down to the wire.

If they can go one game over .500 they'll get an NIT invite. They need to win 7 to ensure that (16-15 at worse with Big 10 tourney opening round loss). With 6 they'll need two Big 10 tourney wins to go 17-15.

It's a tall order, but I'm in hopes Nebraska gets better as the season gets later.
Your better basketball teams start to peak once February rolls around and I would hope Miles is continuing to put things together.

The selection folks care more about who you beat and who you lost to than anything else.......that goes for both the NIT and NCAA. Now, historically the NIT hasn't taken teams with .500 records overall, but in most cases those teams that are around .500 aren't playing the kind of schedule Nebraska has.

Nebraska has the 12th ranked Strengthbof Schedule in the country. All of our losses are to quality teams.....most of which will play in the NCAA Tourney. We also have a quality win over Ohio State.

This is why we are currently #68 in the RPI......right in that position where bubble teams find themselves.

If Nebraska gets 8 wins in Conference play they will be a lock for the NIT. 9 wins puts them firmly on the bubble for the NCAA. 10 wins puts them in.

Right now my goal for this team is to get to 8.

I think they can do it as long as they stay healthy. We got through the gauntlet portion of our schedule.......now we need to win a few.

The BPI actually ranks our SOS at #6 in the country.

The Selection people now use the BPI as their base rankings starting in 2012......so we have a few things going in our favor if we can just win a few games.

Not to mention, the BPI loves itself some Ohio State.

They are #15 even after losing 4 in a row. That is going in as a huge win for us.

Need more than a few. More like 7 just for NIT.

Yea that's what I meant by a few.

8-10 wins......that's the range the guys need to focus on.

I'm focused on 13.....but they just need to focus on 8-10.
