Honus Wagner BRWAR 131
Nomar Garciaparra BRWAR 44.2
And a large portion of Nomar's career WAR came from 6 seasons (97-00, 02-03). 40.5 WAR came in those six seasons alone.

Nomar was a great player those years, but outside of that, he added very little value. After 2003, he had only one year with numbers in line with his career averages (2006), and he was playing 1B.

Nomar without the injuries might be up there with Cal as far as SS go. I always enjoyed the late 90's debate of Jeter vs Nomar, even though I was fighting a losing battle back then.
