I don't consider Molitor a 3rd baseman.

This is actually as close as a 25-8 can be...

and if we took ONLY the career numbers and did not give any importance to the players best seasons, then Groh might actually have a chance to win this... But Molitor at his best was much better than Groh ever was... So it has to be Molitor despite playing significantly less games at 3B...

that is 4.88 seasons of playing 3B...

Groh only played 500 more games at 3B...

Looking at this more closely, I think there is an error on BBRef...

They say he has 1168 career starts at DH, 786 career starts at 3B, 392 at 2B, 196 at 1B, 54 at SS and 51 in the OF. However, they say he only has 1479 career starts.

But look at the games started column. I think there is an error on that column. It should not be possible.

A player can play 2B and 3B in the same game. But he can only start at one of the two positions.
