I still don't understand the Halak trade. Did St. Louis really feel that Chris Mason was their weak link?

I don't. More like the shoddy D that was in front of him. Mirtle has him listed as the second best UFA goalie, and I tend to believe that.

yea i thought they got a good goalie with halak. i am confused about the team around him. why not try to improve them? i guess this gives them a good young goalie for a while if they give him a long term contract.

Okay as an Isles fan I'm not expecting much. Garth has to spend 10 million to reach the cap floor & he foolishly gave Doug Weight 800 grand. I wonder who the Mark Streit & Matt Moulson of this UFA class is going to be??
