Edgar didn't have a lot of injuries early on. He was stuck in the minor leagues longer than he should have because Jim Presley was a much better defensive third baseman.

IMHO, this vote can really only go one of 2 ways. Of course i have my preference on how it ends up, but as long it it ends between the two, I am happy.

I won’t credit Edgar because Mariners fans say he COULD have been a solid defender, so I won’t ding Pujols because he MAY have been a DH on an AL team.

He played defense. That is all that matters.
Ok

Still not voting for him

Yeah, the guy who has more DRS as a first baseman than any other 1B of all time, while playing 17,000 career innings at 1B would have definitely been a DH in the AL. What an absolutely crazy take.
Ok. Thanks

I voted Pedro but I'm making the case for Pujols here
I prefer Pedro, but I argue the points rather than the candidates here. There are arguments FOR Griffey, and I have no prob making those. I just don’t think he stacks up against either Pujols or Pedro.

Y'all need to run the OPS+ 'buckets' for Barry Bonds, I literally chuckled reading. Yeah he was roided up, so was half the league and they didn't do that or anywhere NEAR that

Led the league in OPS+ 9 times, all baseball 7 times (all 7 over 200). 4 times pre roids 5 times after. 2002 (highest OPS for him) his OPS+ was....268 lol. In 2004 it was 263.
