A fg isnt a given but he made the one before that why give a team over a minute when you can give them no time left? It was stupid period. Lucky the Packers didnt pull that one out or Tomlin would be hearing about it. Denver played it right versus Dallas and got a 1st down at the 1 kneeled the ball a few times and made a very short fg with no time left.

If you're saying a FG isn't a given, then you must also believe an extra point isn't a given because that's about how long the kick would have been. And if they missed the extra point which is not a given, then Green Bay has over 1:20 to WIN in regulation by scoring 7.

I'm 99.999% sure if you could enter into a computer every conceivable possibility (which would not be quite an exact science because of human elements at play), the Steelers' odds of winning were highest if they ran clock and kicked the field goal.

In perfect weather conditions...yes, your chances of making the chip shot go up, take a couple of knees, kick the FG, and go home...I get it.

But in those conditions...no, it's not a given, so imo not as stupid as you think.

I knew which direction you would pick already lol...I liked Cowher too, but that ship has sailed my friend. Even the great Joe Gibbs couldn't go home and make it work again...why do you think Cowher can?

Don't take that post too serious. I know it wont happen and agree that that ship has sailed long ago. I can honestly say that I really don't know what would be best for the Steelers at this point? I know changes are coming and I am having a tough time choosing an opinion on how to approach this teams issues. I still cant believe they have a shot at the playoffs even tho its not likely.

Taking the chance of going up by 3 ( absolute chip shot) with mere seconds to go (after taking knee's) is smarter than being up by 7 and giving the opposition over a minute to work with. Tomlin played scared by thinking "we might not make the gimme FG so let's get the TD"

Up by 3....squibb kick, games over.

Up by 7, giving up a possible huge KO return (which happened), then possibly giving up a TD with the chance of losing by the opposition possibly converting the 2pt play is a disaster.
